Not sure if this would be the appropriate place for a "Rifftrax at Comic-Con recap," but if so, let me know.
First off, despite a rather cluster-fudgey process, I managed to see the guys for their first autograph session. And who should I see loitering about? TORGO! Complete with theme music! He did a great job, as usual. The master actually WOULD approve!
Got several great pics of the guys, and thankfully, made it to the panel this year! My first time seeing a live riffing, and the dynamic was decidedly different, and more intense. Mike, Kevin, and Bill were nice enough to pose for a photo of them "riffing me" (i.e. pointing) which was mightly generous of them. Also a couple of appearances (albeit covert) of the Nelson clan. I wanted to complement the boys for their excellent work on Mikes "bacon-gate appology video" but couldn't find a decent window of opportunity. Bridget looked to be her usual dynamic self, and it was great to see her in person, though I didn't get a chance to confess my boyhood crush on Nuveena.
I don't want to bog the forum down with pictures, but I have a dozen or so nice shots that would no doubt be of interest, so if anyone wants me to post them here, let me know and I'll be happy to oblige. They will no doubt take less bandwidth to load than certain people's .sig files, I suspect.
Oh, and just as a P.S., upon discovering that no less a personage than Tommy "Johnny" Wiseau was making a booth appearance not 200 yards from the Legend Films booth, and apprising their booth staff of such (via a flyer), I must say I was a bit dismayed that said booth attendees appeared TOTALLY unaware of the significance of my announcement.
Me: "Hey, Rifftrax guys! Tommy Wiseau is doing a booth appearance right over there, later today!"
Ryan: "Ah, OK. Well, thanks. Good to know?"
Me: Crestfallen.
I suppose the fanboy within me was hoping for some sort of "nexus" forming around the meeting of the forces of funny, and the forces of suck (and Kevin) but I guess my message kinda fell flat. But at any rate, I did get a nice "Oh, Hi!" from Tommy, who seemed totally unaware of the joke being perpetrated around him, which I think is for the best.
