There is a thread like this in Lugosi's Library, so I figured I'd start a thread similar to it about music. Which classic or widely popular songs do you secretly not like?
For me I personally can't stand American Pie or John Lennon's Imagine. Both songs make me turn the station when I hear them come on.

I also feel Imagine has been ruined for me by, well, everyone and everything. It's overplayed, and I've heard way too many bad covers of it.
I saw Paul McCartney in concert last week, and he reminded me how much I hate the songs My Love and Live and Let Die.
Oh, and FREEBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallelujah Is the single most overplayed song in the world. I can't stand it anymore.

Hotel California. There's no secret how much I hate it though!

Damn, I thought for sure I'd be the first to post Freebird. It came on the radio the other day and it went on for like twelve minutes. I hate that song.
Saturday In The Park by Chicago. Hate everything about it. There's nothing to it; it's literally just about eating frigging ice cream. But I hate everything by Chicago.
Anything by the Grateful Dead. Anything by Jimmy Buffet (is he considered classic yet?)
Oh God! I almost forgot Alabama Song by The Doors! Now, I'm not a huge fan of The Doors to begin with. I don't dislike them; I just think Jim Morrison is overrated (I always catch hell for saying that.) I think Mike Nelson hit it on the head when he said in one of his books that Jim Morrison's voice is like listening to someone's dad singing in the shower. Add circus music and you have Alabama Song.

I've never really seen the appeal of The Doors, either. It's not that they're bad, but they certainly aren't anything special.

Any song by John Denver. He was a decent song writer, with some pretty good numbers, but I can't freakin' stand his voice. Something about it just drives me up the wall, and makes me want to scream and punch things.

Interesting....I've always thought John Denver had a rather plain, ordinary delivery myself. Usually its the noticeably unique deliveries that inspire such hatred in people. ;D

I can't stand Rod Stewart and I don't get his appeal, either musically or looks wise.

Rod Stewart is gross. On that note I always thought Mick Jagger was gross, too. The way he dances around like an idiot in his videos makes me want to slap those lips right off his face. I like Mick Jagger better when I can hear him but can't see him.

I think that people need to stop playing Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Now.

He really doesn't have anything particularly unique about his voice or delivery; something in its quality just really drives me insane.

He's got a nothing quality to him. His voice is like listening to some sort of void.

Piano Man by Billy Joel. It is so saccharine and fake-sounding that it almost makes me nauseous.
Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith. I like Aerosmith, it's just that these two songs have been played into the ground by "classic" rock radio.
We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions by Queen. For the same reasons as the Aerosmith songs.
I also agree with those who listed Imagine.

I despise Queen. Bycicle is the worst song ever.
