True. And I don't really care since I'm a Packer fan, but it's all sports radio has been talking about.

Since the Yanks-Indians game is on FOX I can only get the radio feed, (due to blackout restrictions) but the Yanks are losing again and Chien Ming Wang got hammered AGAIN!! I'm not talking about the good kind of hammered, either. The Yankees say that nothing is wrong with him, but if there isn't, then he simply has lost the ability to pitch. The radio announcers( I don't know who they are since I don't live in NY) but they are talking about Wang and saying that the mystery about him deepens.
I know it's early in the season, but if the Yanks don't get good starting pitching, they will be out of it by June. The only guy who's been consistent is AJ Burnett.

I was pleased to see them win on Sunday. I hated the thought of them losing to Carl "American Idle" Pavano.
Yes, Wang is a mystery. If he's not hurt, then it's his mechanics. They'd better figure it out fast, or they'll be in a deep hole.

Is he hiding an injury from the Yankees or is he hurt and they're still putting him out anyway? In listening to the announcers from Wang's start in Tampa Bay, they said that Wang "looked uncomfortable, and maybe was hurt". I know it's all speculation, but if he can't get it figured out soon, he's going to cost the Yankees dearly.

I think they should just let him keep going. I'd like to see how high his era could go. Maybe wait till he hits triple digits, then help him out.

He won't pitch his next start against the Red Sox.

Okay....I've tried to not mention this but after getting lots of e-mails from friends and endless coverage on ESPN, Brett Favre should stay retired. Most of you know I'm a HUGE Packer fan and named my Chocolate Lab "Brett" after Brett Favre. But Favre is not the future for any team at QB, and even though he has had shoulder surgery, there is no guarantee that he can come back and play. Plus, if he doesn't have to come to OTA's(organized team activities)and training camp, that could be something that might divide a locker room. And EVERY year he says he's retiring, only to come back again, which is really getting old.

My long national nightmare is OVER(at least for now). Brettt Favre will not be playing for the Vikings. I don't have to change my dog's name or take any more questions. Now the question becomes will the Vikings make Michael Vick an offer?
And speaking of Vick, he has been conditionally reinstated so that he can find a team. Whether he will or not, I don't know. What he did was reprehensible, but if he has learned from it then I say "good for him". He has paid his debt, and if some team signs him then okay. I don't think he will be playing opening weekend, but maybe in week 3 or 4.
The baseball trade deadline is approaching and the big talk is about Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halliday. I still think he will be traded by Friday, probably to the Phillies or the Red Sox. I say if you can get a pitcher of Halliday's talent you have to go for it, especially if you are a contending team. Halliday can put a team over the top.

I'll agree that I'm glad Favre is out of the picture again. I mean, how much can you sully your own name with nonsense? Really, he's done enough. No need to prove anything anymore. Retire with dignity. And grabbing Vick would be an amusing turn, in my opinion. I kind of like to see the Vikings suffer, despite my general support of other Minnesota teams.
Trade deadline was interesting, crowfan, but I'm surprised Halladay stayed put. I sure wish the Twins had picked him up, because the rest of the AL Central leaders beefed up their rotations. We need a number one starter, but Cabrera at short has already looked like a good move.

I was surprised about Halliday as well. Now if Toronto tries to trade him, they won't get nearly as much as they would have before the deadline...don't know why JP Riccardi didn't compromise on the package.

So, the Eagles decided to sign Michael Vick. I'm in shock. Saw the headline from one of the local papers on ESPN which read "Hide Your Dogs". I am speechless. The Eagles have preached character and morality. Now, I understand that Vick has served his time, and yes, he does have a right to make a living, but in Philly? The fans booed Santa Claus, threw batteries at JD Drew, and booed Kobe Bryant at an All-Star game. Maybe this move will work; frankly I thought Vick would go to the UFL and prove he could play before he was signed by an NFL team. If this backfires, the Eagles will look terrible.

After forgetting where I put this, I finally found it. It's been awhile, but I want to talk about the Ohio State fiasco. It just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. It was just announced that Terrelle Pryor will be leaving Ohio State. I personally am not an Ohio State fan, but you have to wonder just how deep this goes and how much more is going to come out. Unfortunately, nothing is ever going to change in college football, there's too much money to be made.

Peyton Manning got released by the Colts today. While it's sad, it's not unexpected, and it's the way sports is nowadays with free agency and salary caps and the like. I personally hope that Peyton can continue his career. He's always been a class act.

Sports have always been that way. You've only got room for one starting QB on a team. Peyton missed all of last season and may never be the same. They're going to draft the best young QB coming out of college in many years. If this had come up 30, 40, 50 years ago, they'd have done the same thing. If not this year, then next year.

Peyton should have left in the middle of the night and gone to Baltimore in a Mayflower truck.
