They've changed the Chicago schedule. It is:
Thursday, 9/10: East Meets Watts
Friday, 9/11: Alien Factor
Saturday, 9/12: Danger on Tiki Island
Be there! (Or be somewhere else.)

It begins. Plans?
As for me, looks like only one show after all. Wife got put on call at the last minute, so I'm just pleased that I'll get at least one. It'll either be tomorrow last minute or Saturday. Drinks before/after?

7:30 Friday show and 10:30 Saturday show for me. I'm getting in town on Friday at about 3 PM, so after I get all settled, I'm kind of up for anything. I know a ton of people from the CT Board are going to be running around, but I don't know what's going on with that activity wise.
Someone let me know if anything is happening and I'll be there!

Just got back from East Meets Watts. Hilarious. Simply wonderful. RAD was delightful, as were Mr. and Mrs. Beaulieu. Frank was lovely, too.
Looking forward to two more nights of this.

It was an absolutely awesome night! All the CT forum folks were in attendance, and I got to meet Chuck (though alas, I didn't get to talk to you much!), and a fun time was had by all. Alien Factor: WOW. To all of you who were alive in the 70's...how did you get through it? It just looks like it physically hurt to exist in that decade. I know I was suffering just having to watch two hours of it! CT seems to be famous for doing disgusting 70's flicks filled with greasy people, but this is easily that most 70's film they've done. Guh. I hate to pull out the old "it's Manos bad" cliche, but the monster in this movie was Torgo, albeit a bit hairier, and on stilts. But the goat legs were right there and you couldn't help but make the connection! I had a wonderful time. I can't wait until tomorrow night!

mums, I was looking for you but didn't see you. (The lobby was overcrowded by the time we got there -- 6:25 -- and we had to wait by the box office.)
The theatre was incredibly warm tonight, almost uncomfortably so. There were tech snafus -- but the film and the group were very funny.
The opening act was different (god, Gruber is very, very good)!
I have now seen Frank do Convoluted Man 6 times. HELP ME!
Had my picture taken with Queen Shadowrama -- I want to see it, love! I wish we could have talked more!
And now, Svengoolie is showing The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake. Time for a brandy.

And now, Svengoolie is showing The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake. Time for a brandy. I hit traffic and got there just minutes before it started. I hung out by the bar as much as I could, but, yeah. 0 for 2. Maybe next time? And ditto on the heat. Poor J.Elvis looked like he was soaked in sweat at the end of the show. And funny as Convoluted Man is, he's had that bit for years. I would assume he's had time to at least come up with a new verse or two. heh. I think they should do some Cartoon Dump stuff to warm up the crowd, personally. Best part of the movie was when our "hero" is trying to break of out of make-shift jail. His hands are tied, so he grabs one of the guards with his legs. Then he squeezes hard and makes the guard fall unconscious...BY SQUEEZING HIS WAIST! Awesome moment. That and the blonde's constantly roving eyebrows. And when the MST3K Meet Up group had Joel plug them at the beginning, it made me really wish I would have thought to do that on the question card as well for the board. Lessons learned. I did run into dear DonnaSadCatLady and Mr. DonnaSadCatLady, however, which was fun. We got to sit and sweat next to each other...for G-rated reasons. And then I spent a long time chatting with the ever popular RAD, who was even integrated into the "merch" pitch on stage this time. And he had nothing but praise for our little board yet again.

Yay! They better get their butts back to Chicago again soon then, cause I don't know how long I'll be able to wait after having such a great time!
