Got my 2 Smothers Brother's CDs - Purple Onion was their first LP and it is very rough. Tom and Dick rarely engage, it's mostly Tommy rambling and without Dick to keep him in line it's just not very funny.
"Curb Your Tongue Knave" was still a riot after all these years. Though it's a poor sounding recording and obviously cut from a longer concert. The brothers bantering back and forth in between songs makes this a great improvement. Tenza is redone, 100 times funnier than on Onion because Tommy sets it up with this story about drunken parents and little kids running around breaking branches of the Christmas tree (it's funny on record, believe me).
And this bit where Tommy is going big game hunting for Gnus was still hilarious (Gnus will knock you to your G'knees)
Wish I could get the greatest hits Vol 2 album

Carlin's "A Place For Your Stuff" is great. Rodney Dangerfield's "No Respect" is a classic to me. The Jerky Boys first Cd is still very funny. I know there are more but I feel like I am rambling now.

My favorite Cheech and Chong album is The Wedding Album. I just love The Baby Sitters. The best Pedro and the Man skit.
Nobody here has the Monty Python Cd's? I think they're fantastic, although, I wouldn't suggest the Life Of Brian and Meaning Of Life soundtracks to anyone but hard core fans. I've always loved the Happy Valley skit and the Swedish Massage bit from Monty Python's Previous Record.
I also own Tom Lehrer's That Was The Year That Was, Revisited and An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer and Alan Sherman's Best Of. You can't go wrong with either of the 2. My favorite Lehrer piece has always been The Masochism Tango and Sherman's Hello Muddah, Hello Fuddah! is a classic.
I also have 3 Rap Reiplinger Cd's. Doesn't sound familiar to you? He shouldn't. He was the best Hawaiian comedian ever, and you kind of have to be a Kama'aina to understand the situations in his humor. If you do want to hear him, I'd suggest his songs like Fate Yanagi, How Can You Love Me and Ballad Of Shige And The Goat.

Slightly off topic but I was still in a Smothers mood and went to my video collection of them from when they were on E! back in 1993 and watched my two favorite Smothers bits: the madrigal/Nightengale monologue and the waltzing matilda monologue. I still enjoy those alot.

I've got a fair pile of comedy albums myself.
Being as I was bottle-fed on the albums, I've got the Carlin "Little David Years" and Pryor's "And It's Deep Too!" cd box sets. Even though they're technically books-on-tape, I would count "America! The Book" (Daily Show) and "I Am American (So Can You)!" (Colbert). I've also got a smattering of other comedians, like Bill Hicks, Steve Martin, Dave Attell, David Cross, Denis Leary, older Kinison, etc. I've got a couple of Python and Dr. Demento compilations too. We've still got a bunch of those vinyl Carlin and Pryor records tucked away somewhere, and I've got a couple of Robin Williams' albums myself.
My best friend and I used to drive around wearing out "No Cure For Cancer". I can still recite it word for word.

I think Steve Martin's "Let's Get Small" was a seminal force behind why I am so odd.
