Whitney Houston. Every one of her songs ends up with her basically screaming at the end. No subtlety whatsoever. It's like she's yelling at you to listen to her.

They've been playing this a lot lately on the local classic rock station but that f@%king guitar intro to "Sweet Child of Mine" has to be one of the most annoying guitar riffs ever. Sounds like a goddamn car alarm.

Gwen Stefani. That little girl whiny voice just grates on my nerves.
I don't mind Kelly Clarkson too much, but I can't stand that Up All Night Long song she does. And there're a couple others that are really annoying.
Don't mean to go against my own gender here, but SO many female singers out now just make me sick with their voices and their crappy songs.
And - how many songs out there by women are about breathing, or just breathing, or not being able to breathe, or finally being able to breathe, or catching one's breath? Sheesh.

Couldn't agree with you more crowschmo. That's why I find myself going back to my girl groups, country queens like Wanda Jackson, Skeeter Davis and my guilty pleasure Lesley Gore.

^^^^^I didn't even bother playing that. Eesh. I can only imagine, so I ain't gonna push play. That song 1973. (James Blunt) Where he sings something like, "although time goes by, I will always be, in a club with you in 1973, singin' here we go again..." or something. Yuck! What an annoying voice and godawful song.

The Mamas and the Papas. Especially Mama Cass. Just rubs me the wrong way. Wow. I don't like too many people, do I?

That song where the woman keeps singing, "Are we out of the woods, are we out of the woods..." Wish I were in some woods somewhere where I wouldn't have to hear that crap.
That song where whoever sings her heart is in Havana or something like that.
And, not really nails on a chalkboard, but: I like Pink, I think her voice is really good, but lately her songs are so middle-of-the-road and she just now sounds like everyone else.
