I also like how they simultaneously mocked the politically correct, secular, non-denominational holiday garbage ("Merry Happy!") and also told a good story of a religiously diverse group. Indeed. At first, it seemed like they were just going full on sarcasm against everything, with a specific jab at the Christian who couldn't handle diversity, but it ended up being much bigger than that. There were also nice touches about how all of them were oblivious to everyone else's traditions (like the "Jew" ["Say the whole word next time!"], forgot her name, who puts baby Jesus on the Christmas tree). But "Merry Happy!" is awesome. Much better than "Happy Festivus!"

I'm glad this show is back from break. The Jack Black episode last week was a little annoying, but the Owen Wilson cameo at the end was pretty cool. And Black could have been far more annoying. They clamped down on him just in time.
Last night's episode was another really good one, though. They're starting to show Britta with a little jealously in her. Good stuff.
And Annie is absolutely adorable.

The dean creeps me out, in a what-are-you-doing-you-Moby-lookalike sort of way. Between rubbing Jeff's stomach last week and basically asking for a three-way this week, I'm starting to dread when he shows up on the screen.
Everybody else is great, though. I loved how, after all the M*A*S*H stuff last week, they recreated the M*A*S*H ending. Plus, Abed was wearing an army green t-shirt. When that boy gets something into his mind... but then, whose idea was it for Jeff to wear the hawaiian shirt? Just one more reason to love this show.

I guess I'm about a month or so behind watching these. Last night I enjoyed the episode about the STD fair. Very solid episode. The character interaction is getting better and better as the show goes on.

The latest episode involved riffing on movies. If you didn't already like this show, start now

i missed the first ten minutes or so, but i saw enough to get the riffing that pierce tried to do, poor fella. i loved how they played upon chevy chase's ability to make people laugh by his physical comedy - like what he did when he was a younger man. i like how annie is evolving, as well as brita and jeff's relationship. i really like the writing in this show.

I love this show. It has good writing and a great cast. Chevy Chase is funny for the first time in a while(to me) and Joel McHale is great. I love Abed as well.

i'm with you, ray - i have never been much of a chevy chase fan (with the exception of caddyshack), but he is great in community. less is so much more with chevy. i watched last night's episode this morning and again, thought it was really funny. i loved the way they played off the breakfast club. i love how much of a dickweed chang is (the way he just hopped over that student's desk!), and i like how they are not rushing jeff and britta into anything, while keeping their chemistry intact.
this was the best abed episode since the halloween show. and troy and pierce in those pantsuits were just priceless.

I read Community is on the bubble for being renewed for a second season. I don't have warm fuzzies that the network that gave us the Jay Leno Show and took from us My Name is Earl will do the smart thing.

I'm not panicking yet, but NBC's track record lately is definitely reason for concern. And some of the cast don't sound exactly optimistic about their renewal chances.
Weird that Community is basically the show that came in to replace Earl. I was mad about that move then (I'm still mad they canceled Earl), but Community slowly became one of my favorite shows. I hope they give it more than a single year to mature or I'll really feel like I've been robbed again.

The last episode was fantastic. And there's good news - bring on the second season! www.seattlepi.com/tvguide/416290_tvgif5.htmlI didn't think the pool class dress code storyline was going to pay off, but I laughed hard. The show keeps surprising me, and I'm thrilled it's back for another round.

just watched last night's episode. another great one - one of my favorites so far, i think. pierce running around dressed as the cookie crisp wizard (the cookie wand was awesome) and annie and shirley trying to out badass each other was hilarious. but the funniest part was abed, constantly following them with snacks, watching it all like it was really a cop buddy movie. and i am with britta - a frog wearing a tiny sombrero is just too funny.

For some reason, my DVR didn't record last week's - apparently it had something to do with extra credit and a boat. I like this show enough now that it upset me for a week, until I finally got to watch the latest one.
And having just seen The Hangover for the first time last week, I have to say, Ken Jeong is funny as Mr. Chow, but he's nowhere near as funny as he is as Senor Chang.
