Other than the occasional art programs on PBS I like to catch once in a while, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, late night news parody programs on Comedy Central, are pretty much the only current programming that I watch. So, I thought I'd start a thread here where users can link to some of their favorite skits from the past or from just recently. Please be advised that both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are programs intended for adult audiences only. The Daily Show's Official Site The Colbert Report's Official Site November 10, 2003: Prince Charles Scandal Stephen Colbert is often referred to as a deadpan comedian, able to retain a fairly stoic persona throughout the length of his routines. So, in the rare occasions that he loses his composure, it's very hilarious. This video is perhaps his greatest example, improving a routine that, by itself, is not very funny. November 12, 2008: Cheating Death - Women's Health Colbert's segment "Cheating Death" is a very hilarious segment that I look forward to, where Colbert plays both his naïve pundit persona as well as the magnate for the fictional company Prescott Pharmaceutical. As part of his role, Colbert hocks Prescott's controversial drugs that have a hilarious variety of side effects. I find this particular episode funny for its gag involving the Bee Gees.

Two great shows, though I miss the days when Colbert was a correspondent for Stewart, along with Steve Carell, Vance Degeneres, Ed Helms, Rob Corddry and Nancy Walls. Actually, they had Samantha Bee back on the Daily Show last night for a "Cash Cow" segment that was hilarious. Both shows are always worth watching. I'd link to some favorites, but I'm at work and it's difficult to do that at this very second

Here's two great clips featuring Rob Riggle who left The Daily Show a while ago. March 10, 2008: Marines in Berkeley To those who would accuse The Daily Show of being the unapologetic mouth of left-wing liberalism, you need to see this clip where Riggle lambasts Berkeley and Code Pink for opposing efforts to set up Marine recruitment offices. "Hippies! Boards! Hyah!" May 24, 2007: Gas Pains Rob Riggle's great attitude about dressing up like a goon from The Road Warrior makes this a very entertaining skit. I wouldn't necessarily call Riggle muscle-bound, but I was always amused by the idea that Riggle could benchpress any other member of the cast, and maybe even turn Stewart into a human pretzil.

I miss Riggle, but I'm very happy with the correspondents we have now.

I miss Riggle, but I'm very happy with the correspondents we have now. Riggle was an outstanding correspondent when he was with the show. He did bring a little from the military point of view, at least. He was also great as the captain in the Booze Cruise episode of The Office.

March 31, 2009: The 10.31 Project Perhaps one of Colbert's best editorials on the popularity of Glenn Beck and his Chuck Norris-endorsed "9/12 Project". You will absolutely bust up at Colbert's get-up when he emerges from under his desk. The Daily Show now has also done a great take-off of Glenn Beck too: November 5, 2009: The 11/3 Project(Impressive on just how well Jon Stewart stays in character for this)

Mad dog!! December 10, 2009: Beck - Not So Mellow Gold Here is a recent video editorial by Jon Stewart on Glenn Beck's relationship as a spokesman for Goldline and his effort to encourage the purchasing of gold on his program. "I love goooooold!"

I guess like the great Joel/Mike debates, I have never liked the show after Craig Kilborn left and Jon Stewart took over. Odd thing about that is I didn't like Craig Kilborn's late night talk show he did after the daily show, but loved Jon Stewart's talk show from Mtv before he did the daily show.
