Not to worry. I tried using the copy my blockbuster video had which was the old pan and scan version. It turns out my wife had a newer copy that she never told me about and she let me borrow it for this riff. This film inspires a fierce and protective loyalty from women so be careful what you say about it around certain people. Yes, I fully expect that if I ever get true hate mail, it will be for this riff. Sure there are obsessive Star Trek fans everywhere you go, but even they acknowledge that Star Trek 1 deserves what it gets.

Two VoD's I recently acquired are both well done:
JustAndrew's "Warning From Space" - not your typical Japanese monster movie...the riffing is consistent and quite entertaining.
JC Walsh's "Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory" - this is a movie that I anticipate either ICWXP or CT might do one day...a real clanger of a "film"...a lot of good puns by JC...his style is very reminiscent of old MST3K...I highly recommend this video.
I've been disappointed with iRIFF VoD's until these most recent two came along.

Josh Ways Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet
Very entertaining with lots of laughs. Very reminiscent of early MST3k with the horrible cheesy old sci-fi film and the laid back feel of the riffing. I watched this shortly after the recent CT release and I laughed much more at this. With the exception of Wasp Woman, I've seen everything Josh has done and he has yet to disappoint. I hope he's eligible for the rifftrax presents contest because I'd love to see him do a riffrax.

Howard the Duck- I hadn't seen this movie until now. I'd heard about it in '86 when it was in the theaters. I had an uber-geek comic book friend at the time vehemently defending it as the greatest film ever and wanted to punch out the lights of critics and fans who couldn't see the genius of it. Suffice to say the genius of it is pretty well hidden and I'm inclined to agree that reports of its badness were not exaggerated. The duck costume is 'man in a gorilla suit' bad. The only reason the Duck costume works on any level is that a lot of the other characters in the movie are much more distracting by being hideously dressed in extreme 1980's fashions (clown clothes & huge, dirty mop hairstyles)The story is kinda interesting in a B-Monster movie way, but nothing to write home about. As for the Trax, well, I couldn't hear or understand half of it. Probably it's my hearing. I am old, you know. The computer altered voice as the second riffer doesn't work well in my opinion. Leave that to trax synchronization. The comic book is brilliant, but it has next to nothing to do with the movie. The filmmakers clearly did not have a clue about what he was doing with this one. Willard Huyck's previous movie as a director was Best Defense, which tested so poorly that the studio tried to insert Eddie Murphy scenes in order to improve the film. He hasn't directed a movie since Howard.

You did notice that the post you quoted only referenced the comic secondarily, saying that his "comic book friend defended the movie as the best ever"? You really do love to butt into other people's threads and take them off topic, don't you.

Masters of the Universe by Corvis and J. Freek
Saw this awhile ago in order to make sure I didn't accidentally use any of the same material in my own script for it(co-written by several folks from the Rifftrax forum), but just now added a comment to the product page, copying and pasting it here.
"Did not enjoy this riff in the least, beyond the fact that it's just not my style of humor and the recording quality was poor it was also incredibly frustrating to keep synced. There was no introduction, no instructions for when to start, you just have to start the DVD and the track at the same time and hope. The Read-Me file was no help there either because it was nothing but an web address for more of the riffers' material. Also, there's no sync lines or any other way to make sure the movie stays in sync, and the track runs suspiciously faster than the movie, eventually you'll notice they're making jokes about things that don't happen for another couple minutes (almost as if they did not buy the official NTSC dvd, and accidentally downloaded a PAL copy without knowing the difference)"

Tron - Riff Raff Theater
Very solid stuff, consistently high-energy and funny. The movie really tried my patience, though - moreso than I expected it to.
There wasn't one PARTICULAR riff that stood out to me, but the vast majority of them were solid and flowed together well to make a good experience overall. Some good ones that I can recall include:
"Just keep thinking of THIS whenever you empty your Recycle Bin!"
"Why do they even HAVE a prison - they just keep him in there for 5 minutes at a time!" (Or something that effect)
"Oh NO! My intangible object hit ANOTHER intangible object!"
Anyway, I do recommend this one, and eagerly look forward to their upcoming releases.
(Particularly the ones I actually HELPED WRITE - they've released every single one BUT the ones I've contributed to! You're killin' me, guys! ;D)

I just tried my first I-Riff yesterday. It was OK at best.
It was Destroy All Planets, don't quite know who it was riffed by but that doesn't matter.
Had a few chuckle worthy lines, but mostly the delivery was poor and sounded like it was read from a script.

Incognito Cinema Warriors XP "Bloody Pit of Horror"
These guys have really got it going. Solid host segments (loved the one relating to the short) and top-notch riffing throughout the movie. My stomach hurts from laughing so much. They are excellent at slipping in and out of character and experts at voice inflection.
I strongly suggest giving either of their two available releases a try. Dare say they might be the best thing going today. I anxiously await future releases and the re-release of their first effort.
Nice to see Josh Way in the credits too.
