Sure they only have 7 DVDs releases so far, but we should have one of these here too.
I was missing the Titans so I watched Blood of the Vampires and was rewarded with boisterous laughter. The several Catholic centric quips were side splitting, the movies a kooky concoction. The final act was strong, in particular those final bits with the crowd, the chickens and the religeous statues… the gang was firing off one great line after another in that sequence and I was doubled over and in stitches.
“Oh I hate to poke a butt like that!” - Joel

I liked one of Josh's lines in that one ^^^^.
Priest: Adios, Eduardo. Josh: San Diego, Padre.

In honor of the new thread, I threw in The Doomsday Machine last night.
I haven't watched this since it came out, and I enjoyed it. I really dug the intro this time for some reason, but I still didn't get into most of the "segments." This being only their second release, I think I'm hearing some stiffness in their delivery, but overall it was pretty good. A few times it really, really feels like the early seasons of MST3K. The movie is crazy bad, too.
I only own two CT releases - this and Oozing Skull. Have to get cracking and pick up some newer ones. I'm due.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians The original had great skits and some classic lines, but the riffwork is overall stronger here. This is one of their steadiest efforts. Funny start to finish. Skit was a cute idea and offered a few laughs. "Don't look back, you'll turn into a pillar of schmaltz!" - Mary Jo And I still don't hear that stiff delivery many of 'yall talk about - I've tried to listen and compare but no, their timing and delivery is just as sharp to my ears. The voices are the same wonderfulness I heard from their MST days, With the skits, you know I think part of it is that we can't see their expressions. Some of the biggest laughs came from their reactions. Joel's propeller hat from MST, for example, wouldn't have been half as funny if we couldn't see Joel's 'Buster Keaton-like' dead pan expression.

Wasp Women
"These woods is filled with bees!"
^That line really had me in stitches. Trace's delivery was gold.

Family of Blood
This movie was more unpleasant than any of the unpleasant '70s movies featured on MST3K, and as such it was hard to watch. They needed to really attack the movie to make it watchable and they didn't. My least favorite so far.

Different strokes. FoB is my second CT fave thus far. Not sure how much more they were supposed to "attack" it then they did. *sings*Johnny Incest/*sings*

I just finished with "Legacy of Blood" too and found it consistently funny. Yeah, I agree, they went off on it pretty good. I loved the line when Josh wonders why Leslie couldn't dream of Lee Strasberg (noted acting teacher), that's a clever and funny put down.
Of course Johnny is ripe for the picking. His acting was so over the top, it was funny when they'd go after that and of course the crazy, incest angle was riffed nicely.
3 down, all were as wonderful as I remember them.

I forgot - there was another thing I liked about Blood of the Vampires. When Gruber goes through his spiel, then tells them to remember to put the nanotated disk into the time tube, and says, "But most of all, have fun." Then Frank (or maybe Josh, I'm pretty sure it's Frank) whispers, "shut up."

A few more Santa riffs that made me laugh
When Josh calls Voldar “Douchie McGoo” in a funny voice
Frank referencing Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man”
Santa: “Something very strange is happening here…” Frank: “And you don’t know what it is, do you Mr. Jones?”
And of course Frank’s classic rant… “You stupid fat bastard, you’re killing us with your Pollyana routine!”

Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks.
I was in and out for this one. So far, it wasn't as good as Santa Claus Conquers the Martians for me but it was still entertaining. I'll have to watch it again though to see what I missed.

Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks
I watched this with a friend on Saturday and he'd never seen it.
I enjoy this one as much as I enjoy Blood of the Vampires and I believe this one to have strong riffs.
Josh's lines are very funny.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Probably my fav so far, even with so many good jokes taken by the MST3K version. Watching this cemented my notion that Trace is the best of The Brains. There's a moment in here where several of his lines in a row make Joel laugh.

East Meets Watts - the live DVD. Pretty funny throughout the whole thing. I saw them do it in Boston, and you know, there's just something about being there and being in a room full of people with like tastes, and having that atmosphere, and seeing the riffers feed off each other and the audience. Even though this was from a live performance, it was funnier when I was actually seeing it live myself. Maybe people feel compelled to laugh when they are actually seeing something live, I don't know. Still good, just not AS good. Some fave lines: (I don't think this will ruin anything for those who haven't seen it yet): "This is how people get laws named after them." - Josh "Yeah - you're both five minutes deep in a two minute scene." - Josh "The color scheme is so muted - OH! I'm SORRY!" - Joel "I think EVERYONE in this movie is acting without instructions." - Trace "The turkey flies at midnight - what the HELL are you talking about!" - Trace (didn't he do a similar one, if not the same line in a MST3k ep?) "Oh, you're PAYING for that window, man!" - Joel "Who stabbed the DUCK?" - Joel But, one little quibble - if they were going to "pander" and throw in a few MST3K references I really think they should have done at least ONE "Hi-Keeba!". I mean, come ON!
