I'm re-working mine (thanks for the new copy sky) - Re-wrote some lines and adding new ones.
You know, I'm not saying this is a good film by any means, but I don't know why people are dropping out. It's probably further evidence that I'm a strange man, but I'm having fun with this. Now Batman and Robin? That was a killer, that was one that hurt me bad and roasted my soul. Ice Cream Bunny is a piece of cake by comparison.
I wish we could get CH back on board. I remember reading his blogs and such, and they were a riot. CH, Even if all you have is a handful of riffs you thought of while watching the Trax version, pass 'em along.
Come on folks, join us. In the words of the squirrely guy in Skydivers "It's fun"

Thanks, MJ I'll do my best to get back in on this, in whatever form I can. I just feel like I'm losing brain cells every time I watch that movie, though, so I fully expect to have the thinking power of a turnip after finishing this.

I am spent... it's done, mailed off. About 200 riffs (counting back and forth exchanges as 1 riff) and if any of this material gets used, I hope you two are ready to sing?

Thanks again MJ - I haven't had a chance to look over your newest submission yet, but if it's anywhere near the quality of your first one, we'll have no problems. I'm (personally, can't speak for Sky ;D) definitely game for trying to sing something - Lord knows I do it in the car far more than the average person. I can be a goofball when the time calls for it. My only dilemma there is my microphone - it's absolutely awesome at picking up normal volume speech, but anything involving shouting or louder-than-usual speech gets distorted due to its sensitivity. I'm sure there's a way to somehow duck the input volume, but everything I've tried has come up short. (Using Audacity, by the way) I usually end up sitting further back from the microphone and then raising the volume post-recording, but THEN it always has an odd "in the room" echo effect, so it's just trading one problem for another. You record stuff, right MJ? Any pointers you might have there? (I use a Samson USB Condenser mic) No big deal if not. We'll work something out. Again, thanks for thinking outside the box all the same. Hopefully we'll keep getting even more scripts of the quality we've received so far.

Wow, this is turning out to be harder than I thought. I've got 142 jokes written for the first 26 minutes, but I'm starting to find myself tapped out. I've been taking it a little at a time though. So maybe I'll stop for now and try again latter today, or the next time I have a day off with little to do.

So maybe I'll stop for now and try again latter today, or the next time I have a day off with little to do. Wow, nice job so far! As far as getting tapped out is concerned, one thing I learned with script-submission-type riffs is that a lot of the submissions can be "bottom-heavy," meaning most of the riffs are for the earlier parts of the movie. Some people just don't have the energy they started with once they reach the end of the film, and it can show in the riffs they make. If you fear getting burned out too early, after taking a break you can always try working on the scenes at the end of the movie, and try working backwards from there. Might balance out the energy level in the writing, and it can sometimes help keep the writer on their toes.

I just hope that my riffs are quality. I tried to steer away from doing too much low brow (although I think I did sneak a few in there). I am also trying to avoid using the rifftrax jokes.

Boy Raja, I'm not sure about what to do with something like that. I use an old Fostex, digtal 16 track mixer, which can set EQ levels and such - I know there are programs on the computer that is what most musicians use these days (garage band etc) that might help with levels. Now, I could get on my board and mix multiple voices (one on each track), sound effects etc and make it balance, but I have no know how on how to blend that audio with visuals.
Have you asked any of the Irrifers at Rifftrax - or do they have an advice fourm/thread there?

Just a reminder to everyone still considering helping out - the deadline for first scripts is only a little more than a week away! To MJ about the microphone thing: I have looked at some threads on the Rifftrax forum, but whenever I tried the methods listed (only a small handful even mentioned having this problem), they didn't seem to work for me. I guess I've been kinda embarrassed to ask about it since everyone else seem to not worry about it. ;D I'll figure out something, even if I have to scream at the other end of my recording room. Thanks for the help, regardless.

Sorry guys, ended up getting some live comedy opportunities and have been busy writing that and haven't had the time to get to this sadly. Looking forward to hearing some sung riffs though!

Well, just remember - as long as we haven't recorded it yet or told you otherwise, we'll always accept any latecomer scripts.

Turned in mine today. Sorry I couldn't get much for the Thumbelina part, but I did manage to write for the beginning and end Santa Claus segments. That was much more of an ordeal to get through that I remember.

Last day for 5 DVDs is tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen! Don't be afraid to submit any half-finished scripts, as we'll happily accept any re-writes you might make later.

Just a reminder to everyone that we are still accepting scripts at Skyroniter's email (tapes@mst3kvideos.com). Our recent work on Jaws: The Revenge is holding up the script compilation process, so additional ones certainly won't mess us up at all. We've got some killer scripts so far, and hope to have even more as this moves along.
By the way - does anyone who has the Rifftrax DVD of "Santa/Ice Cream Bunny" know if that DVD also offers the non-riffed version? If it exists, I'm tempted to use that as the DVD we should sync our final riff to, as more people would probably own that one. Unless, of course, it's a worse quality video or something. Any input on that would be most welcomed.

So what is the status on this? I take it since there hasn't been a post in this thread since May that it won't be available this Christmas.
