This is yet another great set IMHO. But of course I would think that anything MST3K related would be great. That TV shows on dvd site lists the possible release date as March 16th. But they also go on to say that the date has not been announced by Shout so make it in pencil. Vol XVI gets released in less than a week & Vol XVII gets released in March to quote Flounder from Animal House "Oh Boy Is This Great" Satellite News also goes on to say..
I could not agree more myself ;D

Awesome.
Final Sacrifice is one of my favorites, and now I won't have to worry about overplaying my tape.
Blood Waters of Dr. Z is the one S10 episode I don't have taped (I watched it once but have no memory of it whatsoever).
Crawling Eye should be interesting just as a historical thing, though what I've seen of s1 didn't impress me.

The only thing that would make this set better would be if a Rowsdower figurine was included in the box set

Usually I'm dissapointed when a set has mostly epps I've already seen - but when one of those is Final Sacrafice and another is the very first cable episode I can't complain. (and it has been years since I watched Bloodwaters)
- I've been meaning to see The Beatniks for forever. A very anticipated episode for me.
You know, a featurette about the making of the very first cable episode would be great. We already got so much info about the KTMA production from previous extras that this would be a great follow-up.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the DVD case art for The Final Sacrifice will look like. It better contain a drunken, hockey-haired likeness of Rowsdower in it alongside Crow and Servo, or I'll be very disappointed.

I rememmber researching the Dr. Z rights issue cock-up years ago and that lead me to a guy named Ed (last name escapes me). Among other things, I remember him telling me tht Rhino had an option to release it on DVD, but that they had a limited time in which they could do it. It's nice that Shout was able to get back on this and release it.
Add to that, Final Sacrifice (a special one in my memory banks), which we were told was unlikely, as well as the first CC episode and all told, this is a nice and unexpected collection indeed.

The biggest surprise to me is episode 101. Its been 17 volumes and a few individual releases and its just now coming out on DVD. I figured we'd never see it since its been so long.

I'm surprised Crawling Eye was included. It seemed that they started with 102 and were going in order from there.

Hopefully the set will have some extras like Crow vs Crow or The Speculative Science and Technology of MST3K with Joel and Trace.

Awesome! At long last, The Crawling Eye is put on DVD. And the Final Sacrifice, one of the show's most popular episodes! And I still haven't gotten around to seeing The Beatniks or Bloodwater, so I'm pretty much loving this set.
I'm so glad MST3K is with Shout, they blow Rhino out of the water.

The Crawling Eye is the jewel on this set for me. It's cool just to see it released. Otherwise the episodes are pretty middle-of-the-road. Any new set is a good set, though

Nothing wrong with this set. "Final Sacrifice", while I think it tends to get overhyped, is a great episode, and I haven't seen "Dr. Z" or "Beatniks" in many many years. I remember liking them, though. "Crawling Eye" is just....cool.
This year, I give thanks for Shout! Factory.

I just love Shout Factory. I really do.
Only downside to this set is that I own three of the four movies here. Only Blood Waters of Dr. Z is currently not on my DVD shelf. That said I am excited about this set. Anything in DVD quality is ok with me. Just wish this was more "new" for me, but I'll take what I can get. Beatniks was always a fav of mine, and while my copy of TFS is really good it will be nice to see it without the Sci-Fi logo and ads for "Deepstar Six" in the corner.
Kinda wish offering more money would work with the Gamera films, but some how I doubt it will.

It seems to me that they should be able to release the Gamera movies because they are considered public domain in the US. I read somewhere because Kadokawa had bought Daiei for some reason our copyright laws did not recognize the transfer of rights for Gamera to Kadokawa. I wish I could find where I read that.
