It is available to pre-order though it hasn't been officially announced? I didn't know that they did that.

just curious if this happened to anyone else i received an email from amazon canceling my order for box set 17 "We are sorry to report that the following item is no longer available from our supplier: Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume XVII However, we have learned that a substitute is available under a different item number. You may link directly to the product details page for the substitute item using the URL below: Substitute: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030ATZHQThe unavailable item has been cancelled from your order. If you would like to purchase the substitute item, please visit our web site to place a new order. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com. Sincerely, Customer Service Department Amazon.com" so i order the substitute- but it costs like 56 bux now- not the 42 or so it was -- and i used the original link from mst3kinfo. anyone else get the same from amazon?

Yes I got the same message cityofvoltz. This message was also posted on the Satellite News website as well. So it appears that everyone who pre-ordered got this message. With the increase in price. I went ahead and pre-ordered again but I will keep a close watch on this and other dvd sites just to see if the price drops.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the increased money they paid for "The Final Sacrifice"?

No, it has nothing to do with Shout's pricing, this is Amazon's decision to change the price they're charging. Buy.com was taking pre-orders for Vol 17 for $44.86 last week, and it's still the same price this week.

Either (a) you will have to wait for it; or (b) the price will change.

I was so glad to see this set show up on Amazon. Love The Crawling Eye & The Beatnicks, and was hoping The Final Sacrifice would make it to DVD. Dr. Z's not one of my all-time favorites, but I'd love to see Rowsdower in that film. He'd kick Dr. Z's butt, and probably wouldn't even get his white pants dirty.
