Cool! ;D
So they replaced the live-projected footage for better quality on the movie, excellent! I still hate how they had to retitle the movie, but oh well. It was a blast seeing this live (as DYNAMITE BROTHERS), and I've been dyin' to watch it again!
And it looks like the video will be 1.77:1 (or wider?). Very interesting!

By the end of that clip I was already getting used to the new look and sound. What a relief! Can't wait for the DVD.
Thanks for posting it, finnegan.

Looks fantastic! I love Joel's telling the audience he flubbed a line. ;D

Am I missing something? It says the video is private to me.

I tried clicking on the link, and even when I signed into Youtube, it said the video is private. Am I missing something?
Yes, I agree with dph Johnson!

I watched it earlier, and now it's telling me it's private too.

Hmm... that's odd, I'm getting the same thing now. Perhaps they've already had to push back the release date so they took the trailer down (since it says December 16th)? Not sure.
...... Nevermind! It's back up!

It's back up.
Interesting seeing the faces of our riffers as they riff. At first I thought "that'll be distracting" but it might add another layer in repeat viewing (liking keeping an eye on the shadowrama when I rewatch an MST ep)
Josh is behind Frank in this version.
Still funny, I like live comedy (albums and DVD) so I'm looking forward to it.

That's what they're like live!
I wonder why Josh and Trace traded stage sides. (The photos from St. Louis showed that also.)
It looks terrific!

I didn't like it. The audio mix was not bad for live, but annoyingly not good--which is doubly annoying in a riff-world where it is already hard to get good mix volumes between riffs and old crappy movies. And, the crowd reaction would just kill it for me. I'm not a big laugh out loud while watching comedy guy, and hearing other people bust out at stuff that I think is just amusing starts to grate on me. Considering my tenuous relationship with CT comedy thus far, there is no way I should get this.
It's a bummer too, because there are not many Kung Fu movies in the riffed universe, and I was looking forward to this one.
Incidentally, the news letter reads like this CT Live is a sort of branch effort, but I really doubt that we will see studio produced DVDs ever again unless this effort completely bombs.

I've got to agree with Bob3k once again. I think it is actually interesting seeing the performers & I don't mind that aspect of the DVD at all, but the audio--mostly the audience laughter--is just too distracting for me. More over, it is just annoying listening to everyone geek out over every line. I mean, I went to see Danger on Tiki Island live, and when you are there, its different... but the audience is just so annoying on this. I was really excited to see the riffing of this movie for many of the same reasons that Bob3k pointed out. None of the MST3k or post-MST3k projects have tackled Kung-Fu or Blacksploitation films, so I really wanted to see this, but not in this format. I thought the actual riffs were really good, but I think I'm going to pass. I'm thankful that they posted a lengthy clip, because it prevented me from throwing away $20...
Also, the newsletter--as previously mentioned--did seem to present the live DVD as a "special presentation", but I'm sure if this sells well (and it will because the MST3k loyal can't help themselves) then we are looking at the new format of Cinematic Titanic... for me, that's sad... Oh well...

I am looking forward to it. So far for me that was the funniest CT I've seen since SCCTM. As soon as EZ Takes has it, I will be getting it.

I saw this film live, and enjoyed it very much. I really like the studio recordings, but you know, in this format, I really like that I can see the entire screen. I like that I can watch their faces if I want to (they're easier to see here than at the actual show). I like watching them crack each other up, and I even like seeing the flubs, which I'm sure are edited out of studio versions. The sound was perfectly fine on my end. I don't mind the audience either, in fact, for me they make it more enjoyable. All in all, I feel much more positive about this release.
