Sir Ham, I saw them do this here in Chicago, and I fell in love with this goofy movie. From the Frey Boots (I'm dating myself, I know) the hero was wearing to the width and color of the ties. This movie is hysterically bad.
And you can't call the acting bad. I don't know what it was, but it certainly wasn't acting.
Rumor has it that the special effects made Ray Harryhausen want to gouge his eyes out. But I read that on Page 6.

The movie (and the East Meets Watts t-shirt I ordered along with it) arrived while I was at work, so I had something to enjoy once I got home. Very bad movie. Very funny episode. My favorite line was when Trace (as Pete the deputy) shouts "Oh man, that was a date! I was on a real live date!" Then Pete sits down and looks in his lap. "Uh oh." That joke was great not only because it was funny and it killed the audience, but it slayed the other Titans, too.
One of the most bizarre things about this movie (which wasn't even commented on or joked about) was right at the beginning. Take a look at the "Cinemagic Visual Effects" title card. YOU CAN SEE OVER THE TOP OF THE CARD. YOU CAN SEE THE EASLE HOLDING THE CARD UP. How hard would it have been to get it in frame properly? IT'S NOT MOVING.

That Trace line was hilarious, and the way the Titans were cracking up made me wonder if Trace had improvised that "Uh Oh" right then and there?

i have been still kind of high off east meets watts, so i really wasn't sure i'd think alien factor could be as good, but oh my god, it was hilarious. i can't believe that movie was ever made, it was so bad.
i was never absolute on live vs. studio - all i really wanted was for them to just release something to the fans, but i had my doubts about the live shows on dvds. but i would be totally fine with live dvds from now on. the crowd didn't bother me in east meets watts, nor did it in alien factor. i really like the energy of the live show - the titans seem to have a lot more fun with it, and i seem to enjoy it more when they are cracking up at each other's riffs. they all got some excellent ones in there. i know i will watch this one again soon, probably this weekend.

I gave this a second viewing and I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I think I got whiplash from the ending of the movie.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie end so abruptly!
Anyways, the episode got better the second time thru and here is a recap of some of my fav riffs:
"OK, everyone gather around and pretend you are lifting something really heavy" - Joel
"How many basements does this house have?!" - Frank
"This part of the movie brought to you by light. Light, just try to shoot your movie without it." - Josh
"Uh Oh" - Trace
