Now this is what I'm talking about... I believe I've found the gold mine of movies RiffTrax should do next. The imdb Bottom 100. Once you subtract all the movies they did on MST, and RT already, that leaves about 60 movies, all primed to be riffed. Talk about ouch. And talk about hilarious. Someone should seriously tell the RiffTrax guys about this. I know this list is nothing new, but it never dawned on me before now what this list should be used for. It's the public saying which films are incomplete; they need RiffTrax to be finished! www.imdb.com/chart/bottom?tt0057507

I dunno, that list looks pretty sketchy to me. I'd rather see them tackle recent cheese like G.I. Joe, 2012, and Avatar. We have Twilight: New Moon coming out next week, and I really wish Joel would team-up with Mike to do Angels & Demons (Joel repeatedly referred to it in interviews).
In terms of older movies, I still want LOTR: Return of the King and the early Star Trek films. If they're never going to do Peter Jackson's King Kong (too long?) maybe they could do the one from the 70's with Jeff Bridges. And maybe more Casablanca-style riffs on classics like Citizen Kane or The Godfather.

There are some on that list that would work pretty well - From Justin To Kelly, The Hottie And The Nottie and It's Pat. Maybe. Obviously many of those have already been done by MST3K, and those that haven't are closer to what Cinematic Titanic has been doing. I prefer Rifftrax to deal with the newer stuff as opposed to the b-movie stuff. I think they should go on a big streak of 80s movies, but they only treat us to one of those every once in a great while. I will say this – I would love to see them do Kazaam. I've never seen it and it's almost an 80s film

Kazaam! I watched that the other day. It was horrible. I loved it.
The terrible Dungeons & Dragons movie. Which I sort of liked. Okay, as a D&D gamer it was painful. But it was sort of fun, in its terrible way. You know? Or am I just crazy?

I'd still would like to see them riff "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
And have Mike Judge be a cameo riffer.

The '70s remake of "King Kong" is a very good suggestion. I've been hoping for that one myself. I'd really like to see them tackle some cheesy old sitcoms from the '70s and '80s, if any suitable public domain ones could be found. The riff of that episode of "The Incredible Hulk" only made me want to see this even more! I'd also like them to do one or more of the Rocky movies, preferably III, IV, or V. Rocky V is the one that's really awful, so it would probably be the best suited, but they all provide many opportunities for riffing(and I ain't putting 'em down, I LOVE Rocky!). With these movies readily available in every form in which you can get movies, the availability wouldn't be an issue, either.

Did they ever get around to riffing The Village? M. Night should just paint a bull's-eye on himself these days.

how about they riff mst300. the movie? lol. riff on themselves/old mst mates as well as re-riff on this island earth. and riff on thier riffing. lol. It proly can't really work, but at the same time, i kinda want them to try. and then , i would like see the rifftrax/c.titatnic crew reunite for manos 2: search for valley lodge. I mean, if thier ever gonna do some big project together, this IS the movie you do. They are the reason that film is being MADE, and in some ways the old film is the epsiode that MADE them. Whoevers making this film needs to offer al these guys cameos.

i'd like to, erm, third the nomination for the 76 king kong. (there's also a little known sequel to that movie that would also be excellent RT fodder.) i have a few of the RTs of newer movies (just took in "clash of the titans" over the weekend) and though i like them all right, i think it's better when they do the older stuff.

how about they riff mst300. the movie? I think the world would implode. ;D Mike actually "riffed" on it, in a way, in his book "Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese."

did anybody see "(500) days of summer"? i think that would be good rifftrax fodder. i have "the happening" coming on netflix and plan on taking in the rifftrax of it tonight and just thinking about it is reminding me how much i love to detest zooey deschanel. and "(500) Days of Summer" features gobs and gobs and gobs of zooey in all her doe-eyed, vacuous horribleness!
EDIT: it got 8 out of 10 on imdb but don't let that fool you. it's a horrible movie that fails on every level. the people who voted it up are probably just zooey deschanel's horrid relatives.

(500) Days of Summer is a terrific movie; well acted, terrifically directed, and hilarious. everything about it is a complete failure. in fact, if i were to claim an accomplishment for this movie, it's that EVERYTHING about it fails. consider the title. "(500) Days of Summer." so named because the zooey deschanel character is named "summer." but there is presumably supposed to also be a play on words with the season. however, there are not 500 days in summer. there aren't even 500 days in a year. the name actually refers to the number of days the male and female lead are dating. ok, but did they only date during summer? no, they dated for 500 consecutive days, about a year and a half. all four seasons and then, presumably a fifth and maybe a sixth. so what is the nature of the pun here? it makes no sense. so would one claim that the seasonal double-meaning ISN'T intended? well, no, because another character named, i think it's "autumn," turns up later on. so the movie is insisting that we're meant to think of the names as double-entendres referring to the seasons of the year, but there's simply no way to parse that out that makes any sense at all. also, why the parentheses? are we meant to think one thing when we think "days of summer" and another when we think "(500) days of summer"? if so, what? and to me, the whole movie suffered from sloppy thinking of exactly that sort.

Your analysis of the title is absurd. Every schoolchild knows there aren't 500 days in a year (which is why the parentheses are in the title, because there aren't 500 days in a summer), and that was a gag to the premise of the movie. We're watching a man who was infatuated with a girl for 500 days, but it wasn't meant to be. The presence of Autumn at the end of the film is less a play on seasons, but a intelligent display of the truth that no matter what happens, there is always life after it, just as the seasons move forward. It was a message, and a simple one. I picked up on it rather fine.
Do I dispute your right to hate to hate the movie? I do not. But you made the false claim that there's no one in the world that genuinely appreciates the film. I personally despise Sin City and District 9, but I do not deny the fact that many people adore them. (500) Days of Summer has a large and loyal fanbase, as well.
