In beauty fashion, too. They kind of cleared the Yankee Stadium curse, the Mariano Rivera curse and the never-do-anything-with-the-bases-loaded curse all in one swing. Thanks Kubel!

After watching Stephen Strasburg pitch tonight I can only say two words about his performance. HOLY CRAP!!

I couldn't watch it, but it sounds impressive. Sounds like I'll have my chances to check him out, though.

I went up to DC on Sunday and I only wish I could have been there tonight. I listened to the game on the radio and it was a playoff atmosphere tonight. Now I'm at work and just watched the replay on MASN and I think it was even louder. I am definitely going back up to some games and hopefully I'll get the chance to see him in person.

Just saw the highlights. That's some nasty, nasty stuff. Hope he shows up on ESPN or Fox because the Nats don't play the Twins this year, so that's probably the only way I'm going to see him.

Wow. Randomly scored tickets to the Sox/Cubs game this afternoon. Total nosebleed seats, but I've never been to a "crosstown classic" before. Hope it doesn't suck. Heh.

Hope you enjoyed the game, Mummi!!!! Sox win 6-0, Zambrano has a meltdown after the first inning and is gone from the game and, apparently, the team for awhile, and Beckham finally started to hit again...it was awesome!

Yes it was. Especially the part about Zambrano. What an idiot.

He should be tested hourly for steroids.

Yeah, it was cool. I still can't believe they've kept the BP sponsorship, though. Probably the best part for my son was that obviously almost NO ONE brought kids. I'd bet most season ticket holders sold their tickets, so a lot of the "family" types just weren't there. That meant that he could go up to the Fundamentals area and almost never have to wait in line for the batting cages, fielding, or pitching stuff.

Yay Sox! Nothing like first in the division for the All Star break.
And suddenly Carlos Quentin is divine.

As a Cubs fan, I must ask in all seriousness. Is it football season yet? Please? Can we stop the bleeding?

I'm going up to DC tomorrow to see the Nats-Phillies game. It looked like I was going to get to see Strasburg pitch until the shoulder stiffness that put him on the DL. Damn my rotten luck! Oh well, it sure beats working.

Nice to have the Twins in first again. If only for a day. I can see the Sox winning tomorrow though. Don't know what to expect from Perkins.
