Let me check the modern rules of sacrifice. Okay, looks like spice passes. Now, would you like to jump into Kilauea yourself or would you liked to be tied up and thrown in?

Just sitting here waiting for Tropical Storm Ana. Humidity is at 84% and dew points about the same so yeah...swimming in air may be possible at the moment. Otherwise, everything is calm with just light rain falling.
It does look like we'll get lucky and maybe have winds only in the 20mph-30mph range where I live. Definitely expecting heavy rains though.

Is this weather for Hawaii a sign of the Apocalypse? I mean, all these hurricanes and stuff seem a bit unusual, shall we say.

i suppose raining frogs come next, right? good luck, chicken. Thanks. If only these storms could blow away the coqui frogs. Those darn frogs are invincible! Is this weather for Hawaii a sign of the Apocalypse? I mean, all these hurricanes and stuff seem a bit unusual, shall we say. You mean the sign that is the sign? It's still very humid and very still here. A light rain is just starting to fall after about four hours of nothing. It's looking like whatever the worst we'll get from this hurricane will happen overnight into tomorrow morning.

The last hurricane we got here was the remains of Katrina back in 20005, then we were affected by Super Storm Sandy. I just don't remember that many hurricanes hitting Hawaii is all.

Why not. It'll be safer than living here right at the moment. And I'll get to see Crowfan's attic which I believe is now a historical landmark. Hurricane Ana's eye passed far enough south that we didn't even get any wind, mostly light showers with occasional downpours for about 48hrs. We had lightning for about 1/2hr on Saturday and that's pretty much the worse we had. We're now back to setting record high temperatures. My thermometer today is reading 86.4 with 69% humidity. Oh joy! It's October 22nd damn it! Cool down already! The lava flow had slowed down over the last month or so but is still being fed by Pu'u O'o. The flow front stalled, they think the lava level being put out dropped, but a finger outbreak broke out a bit behind the front and has now passed where the front had stopped. So it's back to being maybe 2 weeks before it hits Pahoa. Here's the link again to check on the status of current eruption phases. Mahalo for reading and again, until next time, Aloha!

this is going to be a stupid question, because i'm guessing hot ass lava trumps about anything. but does weather affect it?

Weather to a lava flow is like a boxing match between Webster & Mohammad Ali. Lava does some okey dokes and then laughs while the weather rages it's fury.

i thought as much. it just seems that two forces of nature like that - weather just seems so BIG - but nothing like a zillion degrees of anything to make short work of it.
