I'd never seen this before, which is unforgivable seeing as how it basically helped a number of MST3K people stay employed for a bit. But my wife wanted to see it, Netflix delivered, and voila.
And, holy hell, is this thing good. The fact that it was canceled is proof that television audiences do not recognize what makes for good television.

I agree that it is an excellent show. We bought the DVD box set. Keep your eye out for Joel. He appears in one episode.

Actually, if I counted correctly, he appears in three (only briefly, though). Also, Trace shows up in a few episodes, which caught me off-guard every single time. :-)
I just finished watching the show for the first time myself. Depressing that it was discontinued so quickly. Very funny stuff.

One of the few shows I ever watched at inception. Great casting. Loved Jason Segel in it.
Probably one of the first times I watched a school set in a high school once I was out of it-the show made me feel old!

I'm guilty of never seeing it. I have to fix that.

Love the show. DVD set is watched about once a year. Josh is on the commentary for the party episode.

I loved this show and watched it when it was on. I wish it had been given more of a chance, because the show is very well written and the characters were well rounded, etc. Own the box set DVD too. It's a great show. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Yes I am very guilty of not watching it when if first came out as well. I also am guilty of *rolling my eyes* when someone would complain saying that show was canceled before it's time. I must say this for me was because of the advertising and the trailers for the show itself. So bad marketing I think. But since I caught a few episodes on IFC, I am really enjoying it. It's very well written and acted. Also the show takes place in 1980 and I graduated from high school in 1979 so it does being back memories. I found a clip of one of Joel's scenes:

I'm on the fourth disc from Netflix, and I'm very impressed...and very sorry I didn't (couldn't) catch this in it's day.

I became a fan a few years back. I rented the first disk from Netflix and liked it so much I just bought the whole thing Little did I know about the MST alums in further episodes. I show it to anyone I can, and even got my younger siblings into it (who really have no idea what it was like to grow up in the 80s). And this may be blasphemy to some...but I really hated the finale, or at least the direction they took Lindsay in. It was bad enough that I knew it was the end for sure going in, but to have it finish the way it did...really bummed me out. Am I alone? Anyway, it is cool to watch it all over again on IFC (who never lets me down, what a great channel).

My wife and I watched it as it aired. It was a great show but I didn't stick with it to the end (she did though)
