I saw him the 80's with Yngwie Malmsteen. Loved Rainbow and his time in Sabbath. R. I. P. Ronnie.

This is terrible news. He was one of my favorite all-time metal singers. His vocal style was so powerful it gave me chills. I loved him in Rainbow and Sabbath, and his solo stuff was superb. And by all accounts, he was a real gentleman.
He had been sick for some time, but all the reports I heard indicated that he was responding well to treatment. His form of cancer must have been pretty aggressive.
Think I'll go put on my Rainbow Rising album now.
RIP Ronnie.

A very sad day indeed. =(
Last night I listened to the Heaven and Hell album, and then I jammed Holy Diver on the way to work this morning as a tribute. He was supposed to have been a nice guy who treated his fans kindly. Here’s to Dio – one of the best Metal vocalists ever.

Sorry to hear this. Seemed like a good guy, and Holy Diver still makes me nod my head.
Rest well, sir.

Saw RJD with Black Sabbath a looong time ago. He was an amazing vocalist and performer who had big shoes to fill (The crowd kept yelling "Ozzy" at him. Buncha dorks) Diving into Holy Diver now...
