For the first time in years and years, I'll have daily internet access, for a whole month. But what do I do with it? I kind of forget.... I've gotten so used to an hour or two every week or two that I feel confused by the surfeit of access.
When you're fiddling around on the net for two or ten hours (or whatever you do on your most surfy days), what do you spend time doing?

Hmmm... That's kind of a hard question. I tend to surf the Internet at work when we have downtime, and sometimes we have so much downtime that I get really bored and can't think of any more stuff to look up (at which point I turn to the actual ink-and-paper book I always have handy)! What I generally do, though, besides cruising around here, is read blogs (particularly Pharyngula), research and write articles (for Suite 101), talk about music and stuff with the other "Elders of Goth" on Facebook, or sometimes watch music videos on YouTube. Sometimes I also take surveys and junk like that for money.

I check my email compulsively every 10 minutes or so, check this forum, play an online text-based adventure game, and read webcomics.
Wow, when I write it out it doesn't seem like I do all that much, but when the power went out yesterday and I had no internet I got so damn bored I almost went insane.

I post my very important reviews on my various websites... because how can people know what opinion to have if I don't give them one? ;D
I do a lot of music related stuff - enter contests, post at songwriter forums, throw my music out there in as many places as I can. etc, etc, etc
I gab with my friends in Nashville who I don't get to see any more because I moved out of State.
I'm always finding something I want to look up. About a movie, or art or music or psychology or whatever... I read and research a lot. It's like I'm back at bloody school, only I'm having fun.
I watch the 2 or 3 TV shows I like (I don't have cable, so my TV is mostly a vessel to watch Blu-rays and DVD)
And lastly but not leastly... I spend far too much time on this forum.

Two sites that take up way more time than is probably healthy: www.sporcle.comA completely addictive quiz site. Like playing Jeopardy until your brain melts. www.kingdomofloathing.comA very fun and funny role-playing game that spoofs role-playing games, as well as basically everything else. Tons of MST references and other hilarity.

I spend a lot of time reading the news stories about paranormal/cryptid/unexplained stuff posted on www.anomalist.com and following them up on related websites. 90% of the time I just enjoy laughing at the outrageous claims, obvious wishful thinking, misinterpretation or fakery, and so forth, but there's also the occasional creepier or unexplainable story to pique my interest. It's good for endless hours of amusement.

I spend a lot of my online time here. I am usually found reading the news and news/media blogs. I do research for a political forum I belong to and I spend a lot of time wading through links and comments. (Now you know why I'm insane...) I play a lot of games online in my down time. Pogo, Big Fish, FOG, etc. I recently got hooked on a whole slew of stuff from Play-Rix, so I'm often over on there direct site. Otherwise I am usually checking the couple of forums I belong to, chatting with people, and looking stuff up in general use.

good ideas, guys, Keep 'em coming. I did recall, subsequent to astronomy pix, that for awhile there I classified galaxies at galaxy zoo, but I wasn't great at it.
I note that one of you claims insanity as a result of the internet and another claims insanity as a result of it being gone. Verrrry interesting.

Mostly I search for the next big entertainment. From this forum alone--though sometimes indirectly--I've discovered Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic, Ambrose Bierce, Richard Matheson, H.P. Lovecraft, Fawlty Towers, countless movies (from The Fall to Guy From Harlem), and tons more.
This is the only forum where I post, but sometimes I'll find others and look for a literature thread; I almost always find one. I'll get ideas here and there, then I usually go to Amazon or Wikipedia or something and read more about them.
Suddenly I wish somebody would make a The Fall Guy From Harlem movie.

I spend a lot of my time here, checking my email and facebook, and playing with an online dog I "adopted" here. I also try to update my blog on a semi-regular basis. The rest of the time is spent reading fanfiction, trying to find music (like the songs they use in commercials, movie trailers, and tv shows but never tell you what they are), watching movie trailers and viral videos, and observing this, although that's a seasonal thing. Sometimes I also look for new sheet music to break up what I have, depending on my mood.
