Only Bride of the Monster strikes me as a must have in this set. However I am a completionist regarding MST3K so I will be getting this set within the first week anyway.

Haven't seen any of them, but I'm fairly new to the whole MStie thing. Well, I bought Robot Monster on vhs years ago because it came with a set of 3-D glasses, and I thought "Wow, watching a 3-D movie in my own house. Sold."
Problem was, they split the colours vertically so you had to watch the movie with your head titled to one side in order to see the really bad 3-D. And watching it without glasses was migrane inducing. So I stopped about 10 minutes into it and threw it in the pile.

Only one of these are actually in my top 50, but 2 of them are close behind that, and even the one I would consider the least favorite is not bad IMO. This looks like a solid set to me. If the extras are as good as they have been previously then it has the makings of being a great set.

Good set - Bride and Doll are my favorites - Robot Monster isn't bad and while Fish isn't one of my favorites, there are some killer riffs in it.
Please, please, please let the masters be in good shape.

I'm excited. I'm not going to proclaim "BEST SET EVER," but:
-- I'm LOVING that there's a 'theme.' -- I'm SO excited for Bride of the Monster. It's a classic crap movie and I've never actually seen the MST version. Plus, Hired! Part One! Finally! -- I like Devil Fish. -- I haven't seen Devil Doll in years (I taped it and watched it just once, was legitimately scared by the dummy because dummies are scary, and I have no idea where the tape is).

Finally Bride Of The Monster I've been begging for that episode for years.
The others are good episodes as well.... I'm happy with this set.

Please, please, please let the masters be in good shape. Great set! Robot Monster: One of my favorite Season 1 episodes... Bride of the Monster: One of my all time favorite episodes period. Devil Doll: One of my favorite Sci-Fi year episodes and a very underated episode as well. Devil Fish: A really good, fun episode. ...but this will all be negated if, like MJ stated, the episodes are in crappy shape... or if they are as poorly authored and encoded as BoYF.

...but this will all be negated if, like MJ stated, the episodes are in crappy shape... or if they are as poorly authored and encoded as BoYF. Is the BoYF disc that bad? I thought LC was the one that supposedly looked crappy. (Those are the two from Vol. XVIII I haven't gotten around to viewing yet...I've only seen JF and CotM.) That sucks if 2 of the 4 from this set are in bad shape.

Wow, devils and monsters oh my!
Robot Monster is probably one of the most underrated episodes of MST3K and deserved dvd treatment a long time ago. Check another Season 1 off the list.
Talk about a double feature. For years, I couldn't watch Manos without watching Bride of the Monster first, thanks to the Hired short. Finally, I won't have to worry about tape lines.
Devil Doll and Devil Fish are both lots of fun with an international flavor. Give ham to Devil Fish he'll eat it.

If this set was nothing but four DVDs of Devil Doll, I'd be stoked. Can't wait to have this one on DVD.

Alright, this set has two episodes that I don't already have, as well as two episodes that I've never seen. I'm looking forward to this one.
