... and if not, why not?
I don't mean this as a 'lets gang pile and slam Rifftrax" kind of thing, I'm just curious because we don't seem to get much action in this part of the board any more. Only a handful of us post in the "I just finished watching" thread.
Are you not watching, or are you just not commenting on what your watching? Or have the Rifftrax die-hards made the trek to the more active Rifftrax forum, rather than post here?
Again, I am just curious (yellow)
(course if you don't pop in this section, you wont see this to answer. lol)

For me, it's a mix of not having too many release I'm interested in lately and being too cheap to keep up with all the shorts. For the movie commentaries, my requirements are (a) good word of mouth, which kind of disappears when this board becomes less active, and (b) finding the movie for free from the library or available from redbox, so I'm pretty limited in my choice.

I'm not computer smart enough to figure out how to download stuff, can't even seem to get the RealPlayer thingy installed, so I just wait for the DVD's to be released.

I've stopped for a while because I'm saving money. I'm going to move in November.
That doens't mean it has left my eye though. I'm dying to get New Moon and Paranormal Activity. But I won't get around to it for a while.

I'm currently up to date and haven't had enough time to go back and watch older ones of late, although New Moon is calling me!

I don't post here or anywhere much anymore, but I've been buying the hell out of shorts lately. I just purchased and combined 2 DVDs worth of shorts and watched them over the span of the last two weekends. I bought the "Boy in the Plastic Bubble," and loved it. Went to the LIVE Reefer Madness show and if the next one is in town, I will be going to that in October.
I don't care for current movies--with or without the Rifftrax gang. But I buy all of their riffs on classic crap. Its not cause I'm not savvy enough to combine or enjoy the riffs on new stuff, I just don't like new movies. Movies like Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the like make me depressed. They are sensory overload and the guys do a great job with them for what they have to work with... I just can't get into most of that stuff.

I haven't sat down for a Rifftrax in a while, and I think it's about time I remedy that. Some of it has to do with the fact they do a lot of newer stuff instead of looking for stuff that would appeal more to me – like films from the 80s. I know they don't sell well and you have to make a living, and that's fine.
Other than that, they seem to have a bit of the opposite problem CT does. They just release so MUCH stuff I can't keep up. Between the big three, all the people they get for RT Presents and then all the iRiffs, it's a little much. Most of it is great, but I've felt a little lost in a sea of Rifftrax when I've thought about getting a new one.
Still love it every time I watch one, though. The "live" theater events are a blast, too.

A lot of new movies just make my head spin - virtually no plot and tons of CGI crap. And I prefer the old MST3K gang (Joel, Trace & Josh) to the new (Mike, Bill & Kevin), which is another reason why I don't watch a lot of RiffTrax.

I have a wealth of Rifftrax I have yet to get to. That, and some of the stuff I have seen (Star Wars Holiday Special, The Room, Empire Strikes Back) I like so much, I repeat those like an old MST episode, instead of tackling a new one. Not to mention that there are some current outings (Twilight for one) that I haven't seen sans riffing, but can't seem to get into because I am distracted by the movie (which puzzles me, because it was never a problem for an MST episode). On top of all that, I never posted here to begin with. But I wanted to speak up in support of Rifftrax. If we can no longer have MST, what they do will fill that void like no one ever could. I recently went to the Refer Madness show and was reminded of why what they do is so special. I also echo the sentiment that it would be groovy to see them do more 80s and 90s movies, like some of the stuff the other riffers do. And the only short I have gotten my hands on is Drugs Are Like That, which I love to death. I plan to purchase many more shorts and public domain stuff when I am not such a broke dick

Thanks for the responses.
Crowfan, the rifftrax player hasn't been working me of late either.
I enjoy Rifftrax and I buy them all (strangely I have 2 accounts and sometimes I go looking for one and can't find it - then remember,"Oh, yeah"), but I think my website is what really keeps me from falling behind. If not for that I might have let a few slip by me here and there. Lately Rifftrax has slowed down production on full length features, and I actually don't mind that. One movie a month would actually work perfect for me, though I know others want more, more more!
I sometimes miss gabbing with y'all (whatever happen to Cornjobhelper?) and while I like it okay and the people seem cool, I just don't seem to fit in at the Rifftrax forum as well as I do here.

I still lurk around here on occasion. I've had a pretty tumultuous year. I won't bore you all with the details but let's just say I've moved around the world twice, got a divorce and moved in with someone new. In the process, I lost the vast majority of my copies of riffed movies and all of my rifftrax downloads. At the moment I have managed to get back a few VODs but I just havent had the time to get the other fifty rifftrax I once had. I do still buy the shorts, as it doesn't take much time to set up. Maybe once I've settled down I can rebuild my movie collection, but not at the moment...plus, and I hate to admit this, my new significant other does not like rifftrax (or CT or MST3k or any riffing whatsoever)...so that kind of cuts down on my time to watch rifftrax as well. And on top of that I think my tastes have changed so that I now prefer CT...their last three efforts were explosively funny to me. I still like MKB, though. I'm not going anywhere.

I think they slowed down like this in previous summers too, mainly going for shorts releases. Difference is in previous years they filled the full length drought with Rifftrax Presents releases but the last two years seem to have been about doing live shows. Sadly I can't get to see those so apart from the shorts it's a down period in terms of Rifftrax for me too, although in a way it has been a blessing as I doubt I'd have had the time or money to catch up on a ton of new releases. As soon as they start pumping them out again I'll be watching and reviewing.

I've got every RiffTrax, movies and shorts, and watch them every week. Probably 2-3 movies a week and a few shorts when I get some time. I love 'em (the riffs that is) and will continue to buy each one they put out.
