Is anyone else a fan of this 70s detective show?
David Janssen is perfect as the world-weary ex cop, as is Anthony Zerbe as the no-nonsense Lt. Trench (though I liked Henry Darrow's Manny Quinlin, too). Love the voice-overs, the running gag of Harry drinking the last cup of coffee in Trench's office, the theme song, etc.
A gem of a series that definitely deserves a dvd release.

I remember it, but I do not remember very much about it. I have always been a fan of David Janssen. I know that there was a cable station that ran re-runs a few years back but that station is no longer available here.

Vaguely remember this show (actually just the title, that's how long ago it was.) However, I always liked David Janssen in whatever movie or TV show he happened to be in at the time. Maybe Nick TVLand could be persuaded to give it a run some weekend.

I was a fan of it back in the day. David Janssen's style certainly qualified as "world-weary." I picture him ordering in restaurants or talking to the neighbor exactly the same way. I think that was really him.

Remember Harry O should not be confused with O'Hara United States Treasury.. Which also stared David Janssen and were series within a few years of each other. I enjoyed both series but then again I was about 11. I would like to see both again..

Yes! I was a BIG Harry O fan. Anthony Zerbe is forever that role in my head. C'mon DVDs...then I can watch 'em on Netflix.
