There's been a lot of buildup over the start of this season, but it's been pretty engrossing buildup. I'm interested in seeing where this all goes.
And yeah, good for Glenn. Something good needs to happen for someone every now and then.
Oh, and did I catch a glimpse of Merle in the preview for next week? Oh boy. I like Darrel. I did not like Merle. This could be interesting.

It's about time Michael Rooker came back. His lack of closure last season bugged me real hard. Can't wait to see if he has vengence on the brain.

Been a slow burn this half-season, but it's paying off in some interesting ways.
• There have been waaaay too many secrets amongst the survivors, but most of them came out last night. Now Laurie has laid it all out on the line with Rick, so that's at least no longer buried. Pretty intense stuff. The final scene between them was quite riveting for what really amounts to a quiet, personal exchange along a country fence line.
• Poor Glenn. He's just trying to help. I like that Maggie sees a leader in him, even though I think he's got a ways to go.
• Daryl seems pretty Zen for having been shot last week. Maybe the visions of Merle are bringing out the counter-Merle in him. I personally liked the fact that it was only a vision of Merle last week, but I do wonder if we'll ever see the actual guy again. Rooker does a great job of being unsavory. Great performance as always.
• Dale seems to be the only guy who knows every secret. Laurie's pregnancy, Glenn and Maggie's relationship, the barn full of walkers and now he suspects Shane isn't telling the whole truth about what happened to Otis. He's got his finger on the pulse of the camp, to be sure.
• The look on Andrea's face when she finally dispatches a walker with a shot to the head. You can see her brain dialing in. Scary and intense.
Next week is the mid-season finale. Don't know how long it will be gone, but I'm sure I"ll be looking forward to it coming back.

I've enjoyed the last two episodes more than the one that preceeded them. But the search for freakin' Sophia needs to wrapped up. Right now. Hell, that should have been over three episodes ago.
I'm intrigued where the mid-season finale will end, though. Hoping for something with punch.

The last few episodes have been putting me to sleep.
It is nice to see Carl wearing the hat though.

They've been doing a lot of target practice so everyone can shoot. Where the hell are they getting all these bullets? How much ammo do they HAVE? One would think they couldn't waste any. Is there a gun store in town along with the drug store?

Midseason finale tonight, and the end was indeed a kicker. A little safety for those watching on DVR: Sophia was in the barn - a walker. Pretty surprised how much I didn't see that coming and how heavy it was when Rick shot her in the head. I mean, damn. Like many in the group, I was hoping for a happier ending to that scenario. I like that this show/story doesn't pull any punches. When it's not plodding along a little too slowly it can really deliver.

That was a GREAT episode.
HOWEVER, they're still on that damn farm. I know they lowered the budget this season but they are really stretching themselves thin with the amount of stories that can be told there.

Yeah, I agree, it's time to bid the farm farewell. Hopefully the developments from this episode set that wheel in motion.

Last night's episode was mighty strong. The ending took me by surprise.

God bless it, that was stunning. I love how Shane just went off and the world seemed to change in the blink of an eye. In the words of Ron Burgundy: That escalated quickly.

I also thought there were a few times that it stretched credibility. I thought the main character waking up in a hospital bed in a room that was untouched during the zombie apocalypse (meanwhile everything else in the entire hospital is torn to shreds) was a pretty poor opening. also, they still have running water and electricity even though the hospital appears to have been abandoned for days and the entire society has collapsed?

I thought it was a good return. They're still at the farm, but you can see that's getting ready to change soon.
The end scene with the two strangers from Philadelphia was tense and well-done. Interesting to see Rick take the position Herschel had for much of last season. He suddenly understands the feeling of not wanting to take someone in. Granted, these two were pretty rough around the edges, but it was an interesting reversal.
Good stuff. Glad it's back.

I agree. The ending was epic.
It was a good start. I'm still hoping they hit the gas, though.
