He was born 15 miles from where I live. The tiny football and athletic complex is named after him. Not much comes from around here, but people still talk about Sparky Anderson, even though he didn't stay very long.

Rest in Peace Sparky, I remember your Cincinnati "Big Red Machine" Red's team as a teenager then you managing the Detroit Tigers as a young adult.
