went to NY Comic Con on Saturday and got into the Psych Panel and saw the first 20 minutes of the movie.
It's going to be good!

Sneak peek is in New York at the Manhattan Center at 7pm (EST). Tickets are free, you can get them on USA's website. Lines form at 5pm and it's a first come first serve. Don't know if I want to go through all that.
I'll just have to: Wait for iiIIIIIiiiT.
(Edit: I hadn't put the date on here: it was 11/27).

Damn. I was disappointed. A few cute moments, but not up to early Psych standards. No really good laughs, a few smiles here and there (they did the "struggling to open a door" thing). But, eh. It must've been awkward for James and Maggie as they're no longer seeing each other in real life and she's married to someone else. They seem to still get along fine, though, I've seen them in interviews for this movie.
And Shawn, once again, didn't really do anything "Psych"ish. A few minor things, but, why bother have him being a fake psychic detective at ALL?
Wish it had been funnier.

I felt like entire scenes were missing:
1) They went from Chief Vick's daughter getting kidnapped to the whole crew on the dock with no explanation. 2) Two police officers (three, if you count Henry) just willingly give up their guns and nonchalantly get into a boat with the villain with no confrontation? I know he has a hostage, but they have guns and outnumber him! 3) They never really explain Juliet's relationship to Vick's daughter, or dealt with her admitted, legitimate, wrongdoings in her arrest record. 4) Shawn and Gus have nicknames for the bad guys even though they haven't actually interacted with them yet. 5) Henry just walks into the story (and the apartment) for no reason. 6) How did Juliet's partner get the dongle in his stomach when Shawn and Gus saw it in the mental hospital while he was in intensive care? 7) Shawn has a Gin Blossoms dream that he never talks about with anyone that just abruptly pays off with the villain reveal. 8) They look at Alcatraz and suddenly they're inside with no problems? 9) Vick's daughter just happens to free herself, just happens to have overheard the bad guys talk about the detonation "code", Juliet just happens to know it, and can punch it into some keypad we can't see?
Just a TON of jumping around without earning the plot points, and no real stakes. The B-story with Gus and the planetarium girl also felt super thin, too. I feel like there must be a 3-hour director's cut that got butchered for broadcast.
The Gremlins psychphransisco office was worth a couple laugh-out-loud moments for me, and Woody always delivers.

I'm guessing the "Psych" -Outs are funnier than the movie. I saw one bit of outtakes on Youtube. I don't really want to buy the movie to see more. Maybe some are on USA network's website.

Agreed. I was disappointed too. Just seemed flat and like Mr Atari said - the story jumped around too much. I love Gus, but his story with Selene was really bad. I just rewatched the first 3 seasons of the show and the movie just wasn't as good.

I notice a lot of the videos I put up here are now all blocked.
James Roday is going to be in a new show on ABC called A Million Little Things. It's going to be a drama mostly, but will have some comedic moments, a dramedy, I guess, and I'm assuming most of those comedic moments will be from Roday. I wonder if he improvised any. It starts Sept. 26th.

Should be released around the holidays this year. Two year time jump from last movie, so - in real time. Tim Odmunson is back as Lassie! He's doing better, healthwise. Dr. Marion "Mary" Lightly will make an appearance, somehow, being dead and all. Hope it's more "Psych"-y than the last one.

^^^^ Movie was pushed back (obviously, since the holidays have come and gone). Now it's set for spring of this year. But, get this - it WON'T be on USA. They're putting it on a STREAMING service - NBCU. That SUCKS! I don't want to subscribe to a streaming service to watch this. Even if it's for a short, free trial it will be a pain in the ass. PBBBBTTTT!!!

The movie is going to be on Peacock. I guess they renamed the channel. It's free for some people with a certain tier on Comcast. I already have the channel, and it says it's free when I look at the guide, so I guess that's what we have. I believe the movie is finally coming out in July, when Peacock is launched for everyone. I'd rather watch it now, but what're ya gonna do.
Nothing much interesting yet listed for old shows that they're airing - unless you're curious to watch old episodes of 21 Jumpstreet. I did actually used to like that show, so maybe I'll watch a few eps to see if it holds up. I wonder if anything good will be on to warrant having a streaming service at all. We'll see.
Crossing my fingers that Psych The Movie II will be funny.
