Trying to turn my friend on to MST. I started him off with Night of the Blood Beast. He said it was funny...liked it. I asked if it made him want to watch other episodes and he said he was on the fence about that. He said he WOULD, and he will, but I don't think it lit a burning DESIRE to watch more, which is what I was hoping for. But I will proceed with the experiment and to that end I am now trying to decide what to give him next. I was going to give him Tormented next, which is the ep that hooked me but I'm more leaning to The Touch of Satan to maybe counter the B+W of Blood Beast with a color ep. Ultimately I want to foist Manos upon him for the hall of fame experience but I think I should build up to that with a few other ep's in the meantime. So, The Touch of Satan followed by Tormented then maybe The Girl in Gold Boots followed either by The Creeping Terror or Horrors of Spider Island. I think he'd be ready for Mano's by then.

If I may make a suggestion. I would throw on Zombie Nightmare or Pod People. I personally am not a big fan of the Pod People episode but everyone that I have shown it to has responded in a huge way.

^thanks very much for the suggestion. I hope I can expose him to enough MST so that, he too, may be able to announce proudly "I think of myself as a fan of MST3K!"

Air kisses! Loving MST3K has made me a weirder person. It's nice to have other weird people to hang out with.

"The Movie" always worked well for me.

I was babysitting my three 12 year old nieces when the subject of the worst movies ever made came up for discussion. They, needless to say, had pretty much just been exposed to fairly well-known and publicized movies, which was what they were talking about.
So I pulled out the MST3k version of Creeping Terror, and let them watch it. Amazingly, they all loved it. They weren't all enamored of every episode I ended up showing them, but they did enjoy The Movie, Space Mutiny, Eegah and one other I'm totally blanking on.

I showed some friends Pod People and they fell asleep. I felt like an idiot.
My kids (10 and 8) are now begging for MST. I started them on "The Day The Earth Froze" and "Jack Frost". Last night, we dialed up "Phantom Planet" on Netflix/Wii. Next will be "The Painted Hills".

I showed some friends Pod People and they fell asleep. I felt like an idiot. I had the same response with "I Accuse My Parents" - I thought, well maybe this really isn't all that good after all. I watched it alone several months later. laughed like a goon and realized that it wasn't me who was the idiot. In regards to the title of the thread. I am a fan. And I beleive MST3K is not only the greatest televised comedy, but the greatest show that ever has been and ever will be.
