I'd have to say "no".

Indians sweep Baltimore to improve to 11-4. Are they for real? I'd say it's still too early to tell.

Dear White Sox,
I don't understand. You let the Tigers sweep you...and then you almost pull a no-hitter against the Yankees with PHIL HUMBER (who?) as your starter? As every announcer (TV, radio, and print) has said in the last few hours, he's played on more teams than he has wins...and he goes 7 innings against them with a single, almost cheap, hit?
I know this kind of thing is why you play more than 100 games in a season, but, really...I don't know whether I would prefer consistency to these kinds of wins.
Please stop sucking, mummifiedstalin

I think they should get rid of Ozzy. I mean, they have to do something to shake up the team, and it's not like they can fire everybody in the lineup.

I saw that game Humber threw. He looked good. Of course, he's a former Twin and it sure looked like we could use him right now. Worst record in baseball, people! Right here at Target Field. Ugh!

I really thought the Twins would be better, but with the injuries and other issues, it could be a long year for them. It's a shame about Morneau and Mauer, I really admire them as players.

Yeah, so at least my season isn't totally awful. Edit...and after tonight with Liriano's no-hitter, I can't even feel good about the Twins sucking. I hate baseball.

I love baseball, for the moment Six walks, but it still counts. And Morneau missed that tag at first in the eighth, so it's hard to say how it could have gone down. I mean, they rode Liriano into the ninth and left him in with the winning run at the plate. Big roll of the dice. Really, really unexpected. Cool moment for a down team and their fans, but I'm prepared for more chaos until Mauer, Young and Morneau are back to 2010 form. And the rotation. And bullpen. And maybe Nishioka can do something. Hopefully.

My son and I hit up our first Sox game of the year last night. Nothing like a cold, mid-May night for baseball - especially when your team is sucking.
This about sums it up: I was listening to the sports radio wrap-up of the game on the way home while my son slept in the car. They called Pierzynsky the White Sox player of the game...because his (ultimately scoreless) hit in the fifth ended the no-hitter. Uh...yay?
(So, Atari, you and your son did have better luck than us. Luckily, US Cellular has the huge kid's "Fundamentals" area so my son mostly ended up hitting, fielding, and running instead of watching the pain, which was probably better.)

Don't feel too bad....my Yankees are a mess too. Although I'm really more concerned with their pitching situation than the Jorge Posada situation.

It was the first time he sat through an entire game, and actually watched the whole thing (he's 8). The game was the best of both worlds: a pitcher's duel, with 5 innings played in less than an hour; and then 10 runs were scored in 1.5 innings (including 4 HRs). It was especially nice to see the Rockies hang 7 on Lincecum, topped off with a great Carlos Gonzalez blast to center field. Coors Field was a-rockin'.

Nothing like a father-son outing to help the bond grow. I remember my first ballgame when I was seven. The game was between the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Auburn Doubledays, both minor league teams. It was the Scrappers' second home game in franchise history.
Off the soapbox, now, the Indians keep rolling. 19 runs against KC on Monday and a 7-3 win on Tuesday, what a "Royal" pain!
