Let's play a game of what if?, everybody! What if... you invented a time machine and could go back anywhere in time that you ever wanted? Here's the catch: Your time machine will only let you go back to January 1 of your birth year. Example: If your birth year was 1990, events occuring on or before Sunday, December 31, 1989 are off limits to you and your time machine. What would you change?

To expand a bit on your idea, I'm assuming I can stay the entire year, from January 1-December 31. Hmmmmmm! Let's see... I was born in 1977. Let's go to Wikipedia... Okay! I'd have the Vikings win the Super Bowl XI, invest in Apple Computers, sign the Sex Pistols to my own record label, go to Nova Scotia to eat the 20 pound lobster, attend Pavarotti's U.S. premiere, stop James Dobson from starting Focus on the Family, bet on Red Rum at the Grand National, attend the first game ever of the Toronto Blue Jays, check out the Dover Demon, see the Grateful Dead at Barton Hall, attend the Hollywood premiere of Star Wars, lock Anita Bryant in a trunk, attend Elvis' and Led Zeppelin's last concerts, & stop INTERPOL from putting those warnings in front of VHS tapes. That last thing happened in September, so I'm ready to go home early.

(to jkazoo) Yes, your time machine begins on New Year's Day of your birth year. I put this rule into the game so as to avoid the same members posting the same events.

As for me, I would first go back to January 27, 1991 to make sure that Scott Norwood's game-winning field goal in Super Bowl XXV split the uprights. I'll think of some more events later, but, hey, that's a good start.

I was born in 1979, so...
I'd watch the Steelers defeat the Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII, see The Warriors on opening night, and see AC/DC in concert with a still-living Bon Scott.
