Has anyone else been following the build-up to Portal 2 that's been surrounding the "Potato Sack" video game bundle?
I had no idea it was connected at first, but I do own two of the games in the Potato Sack. So I was a bit surprised to see that two of my games got unexpected updates: Cogs and Audiosurf.
Imagine my further surprise when log into Audiosurf, select a song to play, and hear the sonorous monotone of GLaDOS from Portal saying "Interesting selection. You must have had excellent taste in music. A long time ago." Then she picked a new song for me (which, appropriately enough, turned out to be the "The Device Has Been Modified" song that came out as a Portal tribute a couple years ago.)
And then I found that GLaDOS had added some new challenges to my Cogs game. I haven't been able to devote the time to beating them yet, but I think the one called "Portals" will crack easily enough once I stare at it for a while.
There are a few rumors suggesting that if enough players can "beat" GLaDOS in these different games that it might cause Portal 2 to be released a bit earlier than normal. I don't know about you, but I'd love to get my hands on Portal 2 sooner.
Hopefully playing these games isn't doing exactly what GLaDOS wants, either.
...I hate that computer. Hate 'er, hate 'er, hate 'er.
