I'm embarassed to say I only now just got this set. That'll teach me to wait for coupons from Best Buy.
After seeing the episodes countless times, I just need to watch the extras. As a tokusatsu fan, it's interesting to see how the Brains looked at the movies, and the Chiodo Brothers had a nice appreciation for the Gamera films. August Ragone is a friend, and his knowledge is always appreciated. And that Hollywood screening of "Gamera 3" he mentioned? I was there, and I was yelling and clapping like everyone else.
There are certainly Japanese monster fans who have a dim view of MST3K, but I've known MSTies who had similar views toward this genre. Hopefully August and the Chiodos may have changed a few minds.
