www.variety.com/article/VR1118033710I'm a big Sergio Leone fan and look forward to seeing this, though the film of his his I'd really like to see restored is "Duck You Sucker," which is still missing several key sequences (most notably the torture of the doctor scene done with shadows on the wall, and a James Coburn desert-walk scene).

This is astounding news. I just recently saw the 229 min cut for the first time and was blown away. It truly is an unsung classic. I've been playing catch up on Leone's work and he's quickly advancing as one of my favorite film makers. I would love it if this would get a theatrical release here in the states.

I love Leone, but have never seen this one. Sounds like I need too. Thanks for the link!

I love Leone, but have never seen this one. Sounds like I need too. Thanks for the link! Definitely worth a look. A sad, powerful film. James Woods considers it to be his best work, and I believe it's one of DeNiro's favorites as well.

I've somehow never seen this or Once Upon a Time in the West, even though I've owned the latter for quite some time. I think the massive running time scares me off, although I've probably seen the Man with No Name threesome twice since I bought in the West, so that's not much of an excuse. Anyway, here's hoping they do this right. Fortunately, it sounds like they're creating a new master, but that doesn't always mean anything. If it's as bad as the last Blu-Ray release, it's not worth buying. BD screencapdvd screencap

I've somehow never seen this or Once Upon a Time in the West The Henry Fonda scenes alone are worth the price of admission. My favorite screen villain ever. HUGE SPOILER BELOW
