“Manos” Sequel Press @ Satellite News According to the Polk County article that SN procured, Tom Neyman of the original Warren film has been obtained to film the sequel. I think Satellite News needs to create a "Manos 2" tag for these reports.

Based upon the rousing, blockbuster success of Hobgoblins 2 and Return of the Killer Shrews, no doubt.
What ever happened to Time Chasers 2? That just kind of faded away.

Hobgoblins 2 was just wrong on so many levels. I hated watching it. I have a hard time believing a sequel to Manos would do any better in my eyes. Unless someone delivers a Manos film with a LOTR type budget - now that I would want to see.

I still haven't gotten around to giving Hobgoblins 2 a peek. I saw the trailer and wow. It takes a lot of awful to make me long for the original Hobgoblins, and that trailer was full of it.

I'm involved in a graphic designer capacity on "Manos 2" and from what Rupert the director tells me, it looks like he's approaching the subject matter seriously but still tongue in cheek, which you kind of have to do when you're making a sequel to the worst movie ever made. ;D
And I think the fact that it reunites many original cast members is enough to make it interesting.

which you kind of have to do when you're making a sequel to the worst movie ever made. ;D I think "Sequel to the Worst Movie Ever Made" should be the tagline. And bring back Torgo or don't bother. And underwear wrestling. Lots of underwear wrestling. That's about all the advice I can give. Other than that, go nuts.

And bring back Torgo or don't bother. I hope you're referring to the character and not the actor.

Why to ruin my innocent comment which I made out of fun humor with one that questions my intelligence. If it makes you feel any better, I'll claim I was alluding to myself. It could very well mean that just as much.

actually, bringing back torgo the actor would be super-creepy. which for a horror movie could be good. prop his skeletal corpse right up on the mantle in the manos house next to the devil-and-doberman portrait and the shrunken heads and stuff.
i'd like to see a remake of manos that was very dark and gloomy and severe and took itself super-seriously. there's a lot about the concept of the original manos that could have actually been effective as a horror movie if it had been helmed by anyone with a dash of filmmaking competence. work the greek myth stuff and the disappearing house and the road that leads nowhere.

work the greek myth stuff and the disappearing house and the road that leads nowhere. And the incest, with the Master's daughter playing one of his brides.

And the incest, with the Master's daughter playing one of his brides. hmm, yeah, i see your point, might wanna softpedal that last part a bit. though it would certainly be dark, gloomy and severe. on the other hand, manos himself always seemed a bit sexless. he had all these wives but if he harbored any lust for them, he hid it pretty well. he seemed mostly interested in them as pillar candy, if i can coin a phrase.

You know, the plot of Manos wasn't bad, it's just that the execution of the idea was crappy. That being said, if it can be done to make it really creepy, then I'm all for it.
