I watched the trailer to this this morning. It looks mind nimbingly stupid, therefor I will see it opening day! If only for the alien spacecraft that shoots hit pegs.
I do hope in the climax Liam Neeson gets pissed off and growls "You sunk my Battleship."

Yesterday, while watching this trailer, I couldn't stop laughing. It's like if Roger Corman were given a huge budget and decided to rip off 5 different Michael Bay movies, all the while forgetting that he's supposed to be making a movie based around battleships. I actually thought this was going to be the least terrible of the new wave of board game movies, but I guess Monopoly or Candyland will take that title.

I think studios have green lit Candy Land, Monopoly and Ouija Board. I'm holding out for the Pong movie. It'll be a legendary battle of wills.

I kind of really want a Mouse Trap movie starring Steve Carrell now.

One blogger I read was (kind of) giving James Cameron a hard time for dissing this movie, (He said that Hollywood has run out of ideas). What the blogger didn't know or forgot, was that Cameron had just had his "At The Mountains Of Madness" project with del Toro, nixed by this very studio, with one of the reasons being budget concerns. And yet they have poured over 200 mil on Battleship. Yeah, I'd be a bit miffed too.

"How much did America spend on cancer research and world hunger last year?" "A few million, give or take." "And how much did America spend on Battleship: The Motion Picture?" (long pause) "Shut up."

That's it. I'm taking over Hollywood, and using the money to re-ignite the space program.
We'll all be living in castles on Mars by next Christmas.
