I love a set with epps I've never seen, and I've only seen Time of the Apes! Shout! getting with Tsuburaya is massive, maybe they can release some of their Ultraman shows on DVD? To be honest, one of the things I wondered after this was announced was if maybe an Ultraman deal could be in the cards. I most definitely would love to see it. I'm still on cloud nine! I think the flood of season 3 proves that Shout is putting a lot of hard work into the series. After today, I'm very optimistic that, the amount of episodes the series could see on DVD could be very high!

Exciting news on this set! I sent a message to August Ragone this morning thanking him for his wonderful interview on the XXI set, and he gave me a heads up on some special features for XXII! He filmed another couple of interviews for Mighty Jack and Time of the Apes!
I asked him if he knows if Fugitive Alien is in the works. Haven't heard back from him yet.

To be honest, one of the things I wondered after this was announced was if maybe an Ultraman deal could be in the cards. I most definitely would love to see it. I've only seen the original series. I'd love to see the sequel, Ultraseven (which I hear has more of a Twilight Zone-esque sci-fi feel as opposed to the adventuresome tone of the original show). Wow. That's a milestone that would have seemed nigh impossible in the mid-'00s. Shout! rocks.

Great titles in this set. More season 3. My favorite season. Also one of my favorite episodes is included: Time of the Apes. Mighty Jack isn't too shabby either.
With two Tsuburaya movies in one volume I suspect (as others already have) that we'll see Fugitive Alien I and II next year.
After the announcement of this set I now wouldn't be surprised to see Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster getting put in a future MST3K volume.

It might seem silly that Track of the Moon Beast hasn't been released yet, since it's in the public domain. However, there are a bunch of other ones that are, too. Although they would be super cheap to release, you've got to spread them out, so that each volume costs less. Otherwise, they would release a bunch of cheap sets, and then boom, nothing but episodes that are too expensive to release. Very logical and makes a lot of sense. Kudos to the ratherdashing one

Got another message from August. He says he's not sure if they've obtained Fugitive Alien or not, but he told me to tell the MSTies to keep their fingers crossed!

Volume XXII will contain: 306- TIME OF THE APES 314- MIGHTY JACK 610- THE VIOLENT YEARS (with short: YOUNG MAN’S FANCY) Yay! A personal fave!! 702- THE BRUTE MAN (with short: THE CHICKEN OF TOMORROW) This will not be a limited edition set with figurine. More info when we get it. www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=10370I um..what? Wow. Two of those I thought would never get an official release. And now we can add them to the list of films with KTMA versions that should also get released. Woah...hold the phone, Shout actually got through to Eiji Tsuburaya's company for Mighty Jack and Time of the Apes? That's a big one. That's a very big one. Could that mean Fugitive Alien is around the corner? Three sets with Season 3 episodes in a row. Shout is a bloody powerhouse. And it's a great set too. Time of the Apes, Mighty Jack, and Brute Man are all terrific, and Violent Years is pretty good. Can't wait! I'm amazed Tsuburaya's group agreed too. Then again, these are pretty much forgotten properties in japan. That might help a bit. Wonder if they can get August Ragone To help with some more special features? Granted, his comments some places make it seem like he's, well...not a fan of MST3K, he's very good at what he does.

August Ragone: Japanese sci-fi expert, author, and provider of DVD commentaries! He also provided an interview on the history of Gamera on the Gamera vs. Gaos disc of Volume 21, and as I explained above he filmed interviews for Time of the Apes and Mighty Jack as well. I watched his Gamera feature this morning (got my package early), good stuff. Can't wait to see his new interviews!
