Watched a little of the NFL Network coverage and Cris Carter on ESPN. Looks like the way around giving credit to Tebow will be to talk about how bad the Vikings' defense was. Just like last week, I wonder if these guys actually watched the game. Tired criticisms are tired. They are merely balancing the scales for the guys they have at ESPN who seem to remember that Tebow has teammates only when they need someone to blame his shortcomings on. This game was won with McGahee and a great game by Demaryius Thomas (woo hoo! Lofty pick paying off finally!). I can't believe how poor both defenses were with their tackling. And my biggest worry with Tebow, as a Bronco fan of 35 years, is that he's going to be just good enough to lead the Broncos to the playoffs in the terrible AFC West. If he's flat-out terrible, at least then we can move on. My fear is that he's going to make the Broncos usually better than the rest of the terrible AFC West, but never better than mediocre. So in ten years we'll have 5-8 playoff berths, as much because everyone else in the division is below average than because the Broncos are any good, with only 1 or 2 playoff wins, only in the divisional round. Basically, the Kansas City Chiefs of last year, for the next ten to fifteen. He'll be just good enough that Elway can't justify dumping him, but the team will never be good enough to compete with the best teams in the conference. Take a look at the lost years the 49ers had with Alex Smith as their QB (and contrary to some people's claims, the 49ers still have him as their starting QB because they were never able to find someone to replace him after his first three seasons), and that's what I fear the Broncos will look like with Tebow. Sadly, I'm not sure exactly when this unease will go away. I don't know what exactly will convince me that he's for real (maybe beating the Pats, but it needs to be more than one win against a quality opponent).

Your weekly Tebow update:
I honestly don't know what to say after that game. There was a lot of stunned laughter in our house during the last 2 minutes and OT. I think I said, "NO WAY!" at least 50 times.
As the Bears were driving in OT, I said to my buddy, "We need another Ernest Byner here." Bingo. Marion Barber for the win!

I gotta admit those Broncos are something else. I was pulling for them.
Just win, baby!

I think I said, "NO WAY!" at least 50 times. It was much the same as I was watching the game. Apparently Fox and Elway listened to me to build an offense that utilized Tebow's skills. Regardless, it's on Atari. Brady's bunch will attempt to stifle him next week. With game at Mile High though, I have my doubts. Just curious: Who's going to cover Gronkowski and Welker? I honestly don't know most of the defense beyond Dumervil, Miller and Bailey.

Pats are going to win going away. Too much offense.

The Bears are the current reason I'm glad I don't pay much attention to the NFL. The one game I watched this year was the one where Cutler got hurt. So, yeah, that pretty much met my quota of disappointment.

Hawks pull out another one. Strange as it seems they are still alive. If they can beat the Bears they'd be ahead of them, as well as the Giants (who theay beat earlier) if it comes to a playoff tie breaker. Keep it going Seahawks.
And Tebow brings much joy and laughter into the game. The Packers game was in hand so I kept going back and checking out their game. These comebacks are a kick.

I honestly don't know most of the defense beyond Dumervil, Miller and Bailey. D.J. Williams is our best LB, and Brain Dawkins is still blowing up passing routes across the middle. I would think they'd stick Champ Bailey on Welker, and mix and match some double coverage on Gronk. If they don't have to worry about stopping the run, they should be able to rush 4 and keep 7 in coverage, with Dumervil and Miller putting Brady on his back all day. And now that I've said that, my gut tells me the Patriots are going to win by 24. I wouldn't put anything past Tebow and this Bronco defense, but they're not in the Patriots' class just yet. They'll win the division and maybe even a playoff game, but this one feels like a blowout waiting to happen.

If they make it to the playoffs due to winning the division, which seems to be the most likely scenario, they'll be playing either the Ravens or the Steelers in their first playoff game. While the Ravens have had a couple terrible losses this season, and the Steelers have had injury issues, they're both 10-3 at the moment, and I don't think either of them will have trouble beating the Broncos if they're on their games. Just have to hope that if they're playing the Ravens, the version that lost to Jacksonville is the one that shows up.

And now that I've said that, my gut tells me the Patriots are going to win by 24. This is possible if the offense is clicking. However, have you seen our defense? I barely have. With the exception of Big Vince and few other guys here and there, it's hardly a cohesive unit. They stiffen up in the red area ( edit: make that 16th in defense) and are middle of pack in total points allowed, but remain very vulnerable. Getting Chung back and giving McCourty a new arm/shoulder would help. I had forgotten all about Brian (Brain?) Dawkins so that'll help over the middle. Yet I still don't know how anyone or two or three can cover Gronk. We shall see. I'm expecting another down the wire affair but am not offering up any prediction beyond that at this time.

I'm expecting another down the wire affair but am not offering up any prediction beyond that at this time. That was a typo, but Dawkins was knocked out of the Bears game with what they said was a "neck injury", and he's listed as questionable for Sunday. Maybe they're hiding concussion symptoms, which would make "Brain" Dawkins an apt oops. I have no doubts that Brady can pick apart all the guys in the secondary not named Champ Bailey. Our only hope is to get to him with pressure. I definitely have doubts that the Broncos offense will be able to trade scoring drives with you guys. Whether or not Tebow can cut it, the coaches just won't let him off the leash. Then again, he did put up 30+ points against the Raiders and the Vikings. In other words, I have no freaking clue.

In other words, I have no freaking clue. Ditto. And I couldn't help it on the typo. At least it wasn't lose/loose...

my gut tells me the Patriots are going to win by 24. Well, I was close. Three fumbles and some really sloppy coaching put this way out of reach, even for Tebow. 160+ yards rushing in the first quarter. 2 fumbles in 4 plays. Suddenly it's pass, pass, pass. And will somebody frickin' cover Hernandez!?! He'll take the heat, but I don't think this one had much to do with Tebow. It was all about Brady shredding the secondary. Congrats, DW. And thank you, Detroit Lions!

I was at family's yesterday. They forced me to watch the Bears game. It was more interesting waiting for the GB and IND scores to crawl across the bottom.
