Yeah, sorry, I shouldn't even joke about that. It was very late. No, you should definitely joke about things like that. That's what makes life more fun. 405 - Being from Another Planet -Similar to before, glowing things are fun. I can't believe they retitled this to ruin the reveal. The mystery of the mummy is the only thing going for this film, and it's in the stupid title. It would be like calling Usual Suspects The Crippled Guy Who's a Major Crime Boss. 406 - Attack of the Giant Leeches -similar to before, with the added eye artwork. It seems like a lot of these movies end with the heroes blowing everything up to solve their problems. 407 - The Killer Shrews -same idea as before, alcohol is life, but a more old timey faucet. I think it came out a lot better, and Gilligan's Island font pulls it all together.

DEEP HURTING 408 - Hercules Unchained -Same as before, and this one needs explaining. First off, I hate the Hercules movies. They're boring, poorly made, have nothing to do with the mythical Hercules, and I never have any clue what's going on. They don't even have much eye candy, which was the whole reason they were made. So, when I rewatched Hercules Unchained, and I had no memory of it immediately afterward, I started thinking about the H4 Hercules, Howard Hughes infamous plane dubbed the Spruce Goose by idiotic journalists. I have a soft spot for this plane, because while it might have been a failure, it was a radically innovative idea. Not only was it a proof of concept for future massive transport planes, but it did fly, despite its reputation. The picture on the cover is from that flight, as it breaks free from the earth's surface; its "chains" if you will. 409 - Indestructible Man -same ol, a Frankenstein monster. 410 - Hercules Against the Moon Men -Same as before, sand storm. I hate these f*****g Hercules movies.

While you read this, Rocky Jones will formulate a nonsensical plan, get captured, and fist fight his way to escape. Actually, he'll probably do that two or three times. 411 - The Magic Sword -Same as before, seven shields for seven multinational brothers 412 - Hercules and the Captive Women -same, we wear short tunics 413 - Manhunt in Space -same, from a Rocky Jones coloring book. That must have been the worst Xmas gift of the time period.

You killed that fat barkeep, Tom Stewart 414 - Tormented -Similar to before, based on Vi's locket. I made the lighthouse more prominent this time around 415 - the Beatniks -Same as before, guns and microphones, they go together like nuts and gum. 416 - Fire Maidens of Outer Space -Same as before. I think the director overestimated the excitement of a secretary walking up a staircase.

I love that you included Timmy on the Fire Maidens cover. Going through your Criterion thread as a big block I missed that.
Did you say awhile back that you're not doing these in Photoshop? What are you using?

I love that you included Timmy on the Fire Maidens cover. Going through your Criterion thread as a big block I missed that. Did you say awhile back that you're not doing these in Photoshop? What are you using? Thanks. It was fun any time I got to add visitors to the theater. And I use the GIMP. It's not as easy to use as photoshop, but it's free, so that's nice. And now for today's feature presentation, they just didn't care. 417 - Crash of Moons -Similar to before, just a stylized cover with promotional photos. Rocky Jones doesn't really inspire me to anything but sleep. 418 - Attack of the Eye Creatures -A copy and paste of the original, based on the creepy comic relief from the film. When I watched this again, I was thinking that the incredibly realistic spaceship would make a good cover, but I just didn't care. 419 - the Rebel Set -Same as before, a Beatnik, Faustian design. The back cover contains the inspiration for the front title font.

"Damn, I wish I was you."
Just saying hi again. I'm enjoying all of your covers, and I think you're right to stick with the negative image cover on "Attack of the the Eye Creatures." That's they way the film sticks in your head. One big, large, huge, gigantic (gosh that's really dwarfing) negative void.

That's they way the film sticks in your head. One big, large, huge, gigantic (gosh that's really dwarfing) negative void. Ha, that's great. And three more. Fortunately, there is no monster. 420 - the Human Duplicators -same as before, a Motel 6 post card. Forget Canaveral and Houston, NASA has Motel 6. 421 - Monster a Go Go -Same as before, but a better title font. Two of my favorite parts of the movie are the little space capsule and the guy with no face, and this has both elements. 422 - the Day the Earth Froze -Similar to before, with the same painting, but a different style. I know people enjoy these wacky Ptushko films, but I can't stand this because of the dubbing. That obnoxious woman constantly screaming everything, particularly SAMPO!, makes me want to throw a brick through the television.

I've tampered in god's domain. 423 - Bride of the Monster -This is new. I couldn't find the old picture, so I made this simple design based on the door to nowhere. Ed Wood struggled with doors in this one, along with everything else. 424 - Manos the Hands of Fate -Same as before, the master would not approve. The hands on the cover came from a picture of my left hand, edited to make two strange looking hands. 501 - Warrior of the Lost World -This is new from the same idea. Megaweapon, Megaweapon...

Happy Pranksgiving! 502 - Hercules -This is new. The old one wasn't very good, so I chose a new trireme. As I've said before, the Herc films are like a black hole for the mind, where no memory ever returns 503 - Swamp Diamonds - This is similar to before, but I think it's much more interesting. Is this supposed to take place in Louisiana, starting in New Orleans? I thought so, but Ms. Fancy Pants seems to be completely unaware of the swampland. I could be remembering it incorrectly, but I'm going to file this one under "Roger Corman wins again." 504 - Secret Agent Super Dragon -Similar to before, but a different color scheme. Basically, I just wanted an excuse to use this photmanipulation someone made. I'm pretty sure this movie was featured on MST3K, and I've seen it a few times, but I can't tell you a thing about it.

I want to kill him until he dies from it. You wrote that expressly to make me do a noser, didn't you.

I want to kill him until he dies from it. You wrote that expressly to make me do a noser, didn't you. Ha, the dreaded noser. I've loved that line since I was a kid, and don't even remember where it came from. It sounds like Kids in the Hall, or Monty Python, but I have no idea. I doubt many people noticed, but the gap in posting was due to travel. The next time my dad asks me to join them in La Jolla, and then tells me that I'll be flying out of my sister's hometown (130 miles away), I think I'll politely decline. San Diego was a lot more fun when I lived in northern California and didn't have to fly all day long. I also got sick, boy do I love the holidays. Oh well, it could be a lot worse. 508 - Operation Double 007 -This is similar to before, but cleaner. It's a ripoff of the teaser poster for Goldeneye 509 - the Girl in Lovers Lane -Same as before, and self explanatory. I really like that picture of the lone tree at the fork in the road. Also, Big Stupid is a jerk. 510 - the Painted Hills -A copy and paste of the original, and based on the dvd cover for Treasure of the Sierra Madre. I wanted to recreate this, but without any high resolution photos, I don't think it would have come out any better.

Your absence was noted, and your return is a joy. Please keep 'em coming.
Where abouts in Northern California did you live?
You're not Phantom's anti-particle, by chance? Switching coasts so as not to violate some conservation law? (^_^)

I didn't realize Phantom was in Florida, that's weird. Maybe we're arch enemies, but don't even know it.
As for good ol' NorCal, I lived in the Silicon Valley area for 4 years while going to school in Santa Clara.
