You just had to know I was going to respond to this. ;D Ha, I forgot we had a Hawaiian on board. Glad you enjoyed it. Oh, and I really like the Sword and the Dragon cover. If there's one thing the Soviets did well, it was bloated Realist art. I'm amazed at the sheer amount of art available online for these oddball myths. Jack Frost had so much artwork that I had trouble choosing something for the back cover. Flag on the moon, how did it get there? 620 - Danger Death Ray-Same as before. This is one of my favorite covers, mainly because it's loaded with glowing things. I also love the idea in the film that a giant death ray would only be used for peace. Keep living in that fantasy world, Dr. 621 - Beast of Yucca Flats-This is new, just because I wanted to try something different. I like it. 622 - Angels' Revenge-same as before, a Charlie's Angels ripoff with strippers, just like the movie.

Almost forgot to post these. For no reason I got up around dawn today, and I've been a zombie the entire afternoon. I don't know how morning people do it. 623 - the Amazing Transparent Man-Same as before, just a modified version of the "If you drive alone, you ride with Hitler" propaganda poster. 624 - Samson vs the Vampire Women- This is new, because the old one just wasn't very good. The Movie - This Island Earth-This is just a copy and paste. I wanted to redo it, but couldn't figure out how I made it in the first place. It looks like a simple filter effect, but nothing I did matched up. Oh well.

Steve! Where are you? 701 - Night of the Blood Beast-Similar to before. I miss the days when NASA was run out of a living room. 702 - The Brute Man-Same as before, and nothing too exciting. I just like the look of the Brut bottles, so I couldn't resist. 703 - Deathstalker-Same as before, based on the odd crystal thing from the film. Whoever took that photograph did a great job. [

I think he wants us to leave the Bronx. 704 - the Incredible Melting Man-Same as before, a piece of melty man on a Geiger counter 705 - Escape 2000-Same as before. I thought of doing an Escape from NY style cover, but I went with the original. 706 - Laserblast-Same as before. It's just the actual Atari cartridge for Laser Blast, with a picture from the movie blended in. Bye bye Trace. The show was never the same after this episode.

The Sci Fi era begins 801 - Revenge of the Creature- This is almost the same, a parody of the Dirty Harry dvd cover, based on Clint's role in the film. 802 - the Leech Woman-Same as before, very basic. If you set out to make a movie with nothing but hate, it would come out something like this. 803 - the Mole People-Same as before, and one of the few times I didn't redo an oddball cover. For anyone not familiar with the Simpsons, that's a character named Hans Moleman on the cover. He's one of my favorites, so I couldn't resist. Also, for any old school hockey fans, or St. Louisans, that's a brick from the St. Louis Arena that he's standing on.

So, last night I was working on my computer late at night with all the lights off, and noticed the screen was a little bright. What I can figure, is that the last time I hooked my laptop up to an external monitor, the color settings went back to default, which is torch mode. I immediately went through some of the pictures I'd recently edited, and noticed a few were too dark. Then I went through all these covers, and there were quite a few where the silhouettes were almost invisible. It doesn't really bother me if they're obscured but when they get completely blacked out, that's not good. I'll be going through this thread and fixing everything right now (FUN), and here they are if you're interested. I'm starting to worry that some of these are still too dark. LCD screens are a great help for a lot of things, but photo printing is not one of them.

Now that I've gotten past that little moment of idiocy, here's some new stuff. 804 - the Deadly Mantis-same as before, just a stylized mantis. I can't believe this isn't a Bert I Gordon production. 805 - the Thing that Couldn't Die-Same as before, the thing with a disembodied head that dies right away. This one is so simple, yet one of my favorites. 806 - the Undead-Similar to before, just an excuse to use that shot of Livia. I wanted to spice it up a little, and for whatever reason, it came out with a late 80's/early 90's, Miami Vice look.

GET YOUR TICKETS HERE 810 - the Giant Spider Invasion -Almost the same as before, a VW Spidor. I added the evil eyes so that the shadowrama would be illuminated 811 - Parts: the Clonus Horror-Same as before, based on Clonus' fondness for Adidas. 812 - TISCWSLABMUZ-Same as before, the creepy ticket monkey. This film is all about the title, so it gets center stage. Also, that picture of Ortega on the back is one of the greatest publicity stills ever made. n

This post is as elusive as Robert Denby. 813 - Jack Frost-same as before. When I found this picture, it just seemed perfect for Jack Frost; an arrogant bear man out to prove himself to the cold world. It's just dowling. 814 - Riding with Death- Same as before, tripolodine or something. Since the writers couldn't make the effort to write a coherent plot, I'm not going to look up the name of their stupid fake chemical. On the plus side, those are some sweet Chargers in the second segment. 815 - Agent for HARM-Same as before, a fake Purple Rain cover in honor of the Prince lookalike from the film. What's this one about anyway? All I remember is a surfer and a guy in a yellow sweater.

Your weapons have no effect on me! 816 - Prince of Space-Same as before, Wario Crankwhore. 817 - the Horror of Party Beach-Same as before, based on the hero from the film. It's surprisingly difficult to make a good horror parody. The writing, directing, and acting have to be top notch, it has to be funny, and there are usually some moments of genuine horror. This film has none of those things. 818 - Devil Doll-This is new. I wanted to redo this cover, but thinking about this movie just makes my blood boil (hypnotists, ventriloquists, and men who abuse women are all very high on the "things I hate" list). I took that question mark graphic off an alternate poster, and whipped this up. In conclusion, go to hell, Vorelli.

Bolt Vanderhuge 819 - Invasion of the Neptune Men-Same idea as before, but a different photograph. On the Criterion thread, callipygias made a joke about the swastika trident looking like a giant sucker. I'd agree with that, so I made it a little more menacing this time around. 820 - Space Mutiny-Similar to before, but a bit more detailed. This might be my favorite of the whole bunch. 821 - Time Chasers-I decided to redo this one with the proper airplane. Apparently, not all single engine prop planes are Cessnas. Who knew? Anyway, it's the same idea, but with a lot more going on.

Stupid anteater 822 - Overdrawn at the Memory Bank-I just redid this one for a second time. Every time I brainstormed for Overdrawn, all I could think of was second rate Casablanca. My other ideas were way too boring, until I thought of a pixelated, computery Casablanca, sort of like the movie. 901 - the Projected Man-Same as before, based on an actual warning sign and the half faced guy from the movie. I love crazy warning signs, so this was one was fun. 902 - Phantom Planet-Same as before. The Jetsons meet the Finstones, just like the film. I love how there's like 8 people on this entire planet, and they have no apparent source of food. It's like the Donner Party in space.

The dog's meat, have you seen it? 903 - Pumaman-This is new. I just wanted an excuse to use that cityscape I found online. 904 - Werewolf-This is the same. Simple to highlight the title 905 - Deadly Bees-same. A modified version of Magritte's Son of Man, in honor of the bowler hat guy.

This is where the fish lives. 906 - the Space Children-Same as before, the kids are evil. A weird alien comes to earth, takes over the minds of the children, causes them to act like creepy brats, and somehow that's a good thing. Right. 907 - Hobgoblins-This is new, but based on the same concept. Rake fights are fun. 908 - the Touch of Satan-This is new, and also based on the same concept. The guys might make fun of it, but that is one sweet Grabber Maverick.
