FC drove me crazy with its cheesiness but it always seemed to be the product of a good and loving heart. a peaceful rest to you, Mr. Keane.

^ I have to agree. It wasn't funny or clever (certainly not with today's sensibilities), but it was always there. Always sad to hear about stuff like this.
Rest well, sir.

There should be a place in the world for sentimental, mildly amusing, and old fashioned strips. Not everything has to be cutting edge. Just not too many of them. This is one place where good natured cheesieness should be appreciated.
By all accounts Bill Keane was a good man. R.I.P.

I'm sad that Bill Keane's passed on. Family Circus was something of a throwback to the earlier days of the funny pages that didn't translate to later decades quite as well, but I always enjoyed it.
