Similarly, am I the only one who thought that the KTMA set looked considerably better than the Season 1 set as well? While far more cramped, the KTMA SOL bridge was oozing with charm and surprising detail, whereas the Season 1 version, despite the bigger budget, looked so spare and uninteresting by comparison. And for some reason it took half of Season 1 to even get the buttons back?

I've been reviewing the KTMA quite a bit of late. It had a really cool lo-fi charm. Looks exactly as it was... a cheaply produced local show. I'm expect that helped get it over with the populace, who didn't have all the television choices we have today. Movie selection was solid, except the Gamera overkill.
I feel that I would have enjoyed it from moment one. And yes, I'll take KTMA over Season One also.

I tend to agree if only because I think I was expecting more from Season 1 than KTMA, athough it didn't make some episodes easier than others. I recently just finished Diabolik and had started with KTMA back in early October, so it was 3+ months of watching every episode in order and while I can see the charm of the KTMA and even Season 1 eps, I don't know that I could go back and watch some of those again. However, watching these in order (especially seeing some of these for the first time), it was very interesting to see the progression of the show and how the strength of the writing continued to improve. I think I will be one of those that feel the show really started with episode 201, but being able to see these was great in understanding the show more.

Yeah, I was watching the KTMA Fugitive Alien ep on YouTube, and once you get past the 25 cent budget (and no Trace!) it's pretty darn funny. I also agree that the concept itself was so unique that earliest viewers probably weren't that concerned over the fact that the Brains were only riffing at five for minute or whatever. Wow, I wasn't aware KTMA's were now on youtube. Of course it has been over 3 years since my last post on here and around 2 years since I have seen any MST eps. Now that I am getting back into it, this is good news to me. There are several KTMA's I have never seen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the last KTMA show imply that they were planning on returning for another season?
