Rated M for Mature
For XBOX360, PS3, and PC
Over 100+ years after a massive asteroid crashes on Earth and creates what appears to be an extinction event you awaken from your cryogenic sleep to find that you're the only survivor in your "ark." The world is not as extinct as it seems though as the wasteland is prowled by mutants and bandits. Doing jobs for people gets you some money to get better guns and ammo so you can be better outfitted to do...something. I wasn't really sure what the point of the story was really. Luckily there are lots of FPS firefights and vehicle battles to keep things interesting.
There's a lot to do, but mostly there's a lot to load. Load screen that last 20-30 seconds seem to be there before you do anything. The game gave me an option to load everything on 22+ MB onto my hard drive. Maybe that would have mde it go faster.
Minor technical issues aside, the graphics are sharp and crisp. There are lots of main and side quests to keep you involved. Sometimes a job board in town leads to a side mission where you have to snipe bad guys in protection missions. Racing gets you a more tricked out ride to survive in the bandit-plagued wasteland on your way to do stuff. Then you have to channel your inner MacGuyver to fashion weapons and tools from all of the junk you find. Getting killed in a firefight is only temporary as you get a quick second chance to use a defibulator on yourself to revive and shock nearby enemies.
It's loads of fun and enemies are actually challenging to fight as they know how to hide and use cover like you have to. An excellent game.
