Blu-ray.com listingAmazon UK preorder pageNo info other than that. The box art/title refers to it as "The Humdinger Edition". Dunno if that means there's going to be extras, or if it's just a silly subtitle for no reason.

I sent those UK guys all my "The Movie" extras I have on my site. They were going to see if any could be cleared to use.
I recall the 2 disc fan released set was referred to as "The Hamdinger Edition" but I could be wrong and I'm too lazy to research. Sent them disc two. First disc was "The Movie" itself.

Good news.
I've ordered several Blu-Ray (and DVD) movies from differing regions and used PC-based players that remove region encoding to view them. If I don't see an announcement for a U.S. release prior to the launch of the UK version it looks like I will be making another such purchase.

Region free DVD players are easy to find. Not so sure about blu-ray.

Region free DVD players are easy to find. Not so sure about blu-ray. Region coding on blu-rays are funny, because often discs ARE region free. Depends on the studio. I've never heard of the studio "Mediumrare", but I do know that Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios have released all of their titles region-free. Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. have released most of their titles region-free. The main problem with UK blu-rays is that sometimes they cannot play because of the difference in framerate or whatever. It's all very technical and usually I just wait to hear from another American if a UK disc plays in the US. Hope this gets a US release! And if not, I hope the UK version plays over here.

This UK fan's had to put up with 10+ years of lousy region codes on the Rhino and Shout DVDs. About time it went the other way! ;D

PLEASE let there FINALLY be the deleted scenes and alternate ending (we can only hope, right?). I haven't upgraded to BluRay yet, but have had a region-free/PAL-friendly set-up for years.

No, it didn't stop me buying every single disc released so far. Just irritating that I can't always play the things... It's probably worth mentioning that there's going to be a DVD release of the movie as well as the blu-ray.

I get mine from Amazon.co.uk sellers, the other option would be ebay but that's generally more expensive. On amazon I've found supermart_usa and moviemars-usa to be reliable sellers that offer the best prices usually.
That said recently moviemars-usa have begun bumping up their prices on the sets for some reason I can't fathom, to double the usual price. My last two sets came from supermart_usa and I've been happy with the service.
Also I bought a set from the mst3k official website, didn't have any problems.
