Given that they're doing this "Life After MST3K" feature, I'll bet that Trace Beaulieu is the one featured on this set.
Perhaps volume 25 will have Bill Corbett next, and with this they'll feature some Bill episodes.

Kinda hoping that the reason we haven't gotten any Sci-Fi lately is because Shout is working on a deal with Universal and we will be getting a all Sci-Fi set in the future to cover the first part of Season 8. It's a pretty big gap now that Season 3 has been filled in a lot lately.

A deal with Universal would be amazing. That would include Revenge of the Creature, the Leach Woman, the Mole People, the Deadly Mantis, the Thing That Wouldn't Die, Riding With Death, and the Projected Man. Am I missing any?
It would certainly build a bridge between these sets and the big boys. I'd hope for a deal with Paramount so they can distribute Diabolik at the very least.

Agent from HARM was Universal too wasn't it?
But yeah, any deal made with one of the big studios could really open the flood gates. I just dread the day when all that is left is the Godzilla movies and the Susan Hart titles and shout just has to throw in the towel.

I'd like to see The Amazing Colossal Man in an upcoming volume, just because it was the one Rhino VHS to never see a DVD release. I assume that is also a toughie in terms of rights.
But yeah, Diabolik is the one I'd REALLY like. Hell, if they had to charge a higher price and gave it a single release like manos I'd gladly go for it. Maybe pack in loads of special features to make it worthwhile. It is a very special episode, after all.

I still dream of another volume 9, where we get one episode from each set of riffers. I was so sure it would happen when season 1 came flying out the wazoo, but Shout never got any of the episodes to lock together right. Now they're down to a handful of first season episodes, and only one seems fairly likely. I hope we haven't seen the last of Josh.
I suppose I can hold off on the Sci-Fi era because I've seen them all a billion times, but it was the era I grew up on, so it'll always have a special place in my heart.

This is gonna sound so mean and bad...but there is always the hope that Susan Hart will go to a better place and whoever gets those rights after her will be a little more willing to play ball. On Godzilla....there is always the chance that Shout! could get the rights from someone that got the rights from Toho, like they did the Gamera films. So there is always a little hope.
Speaking of which I wonder if Shout! has tried to get the rights to Godzilla vs. Megalon from Media Blasters. Could be worth a shot.

Here's the thing with Godzilla though, Toho is very protective of their copyright of him. Media Blasters is in financial trouble and most likely wouldn't mind a few extra bucks from Shout, but Toho would step in and point out "that wasn't our deal." The fiasco Media Blasters got into with their Destroy All Monsters disc is proof of just how controling Toho is of this property.
Sony owns Sea Monster for the time being, meaning Shout would have to get the blessing of not one but two major studios to release, just like when Criterion went through both Classic Media and Toho to release their disc of the original Godzilla film in January. And Toho always asks a pretty penny for their pop culture icon.

That would be something else. I'm tempted to call it impossible but then we all thought the same about the Sandy Frank eps and here we are with all of them soon to be officially released (am I correct?). If that dream came true I wonder if they'd release all of them together while they had the rights lined up. "MST3K Vs. Universal" would be amazing, but also probably like a $150 set. And don't forget, any deal struck with Universal would open the door to a much-needed MST3K: The Movie special edition.

No major surprises here but nevertheless a great set.
One day I shall have money again and will get this.

Just figure if we got it, and that's a big if, that would more likely be how we got them. Not saying it is probable...just not impossible. Course it isn't impossible that I might become Rosario Dawson's love salve...but it just isn't probable.

Very, very nice set. I love both the Fugitive Alien episodes, and Samson vs. The Vampire Women is an old favorite as well. Sword and the Dragon is kind of a nice addition for me because I'm not as familiar with it.
I love how they've gotten a chance to really put a dent in Season 3. I like the Sci-Fi era just fine, but I haven't been disappointed by the lack of releases.
