Didn't Rhino include bonus shorts with some of their boxsets as well? I don't think that has halted any full episode releases since then. Good point. Also, Invasion USA is listed as "Extremely Likely" on Travis' list, and looks like it might be PD. Let's hope.

Jordan Fields has said just because a film is legitimately public domain, doesn't necessarily mean they can still get a hold of it easily. There's almost always some company, or person insisting they own some kind of copyright on the film, and Shout Factory has to take the time out to prove whose right and whose wrong. Maybe this is just such an instance with Invasion USA.

Once again it looks like SHOUT! Factory has done it again. This set looks great.
I wouldn't worry too much about the inclusion of the two shorts. Like mentioned before they may just be filler.
My favorite extra on the MANOS: Special Edition is the seemless edit of Hired! 1 & 2 into one great complete short.
;D

Shout Factory would probably go to Synapse Films (the only company that's 'legit' released INVASION U.S.A. to DVD), or Sinister Cinema (grey-area, however).

I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon today. Good episodes, good extras. I am definitely looking forward to 7/31.

My local FYE actually had a copy of XXIV on its shelves, but the cash register blocked my purchase of it because it's not the official release date yet. So I paid for it now, and I'll be back to get it on Tuesday.

Really. So stores already have them?

Stores recieve DVDs and Blu-Rays days before their release date, sometimes even weeks. Sometimes they accidentally get put out, especially with low profile releases.

So Im betting if you worked at these stores you could have the sets early. Then ring them up and pay for them after release date.

At the retail outlets I've worked for, it was forbidden to sell them early at all, even to employees.

At Target (granted, they never carry MST3K, but I work there), the registers are not allowed to sell new release movies/games/CDs/toys before the release date.
