Soccer star dies at 65I don't think many people here follow proper football, but Chinaglia was a legend for both Lazio and the New York Cosmos. He seemed to score at will, and had an excessive personality to match. For documentary fans, he was heavily featured in the excellent Once in a Lifetime, about the improbable rise of soccer in the United States during the 1970s. Playing alongside the likes of Pele and Franz Beckenbauer in front of sell out crowds at Giants Stadium, he and the Cosmos made for quite a show, even if it only lasted for a short time.
