Just saw this on Yahoo about 2 minutes ago..... I'm stunned, absolutely stunned. I too grew up listening to The Beastie Boys.

That's awful news. I knew he wasn't doing well and was hoping this would all turn out better.
A one-of-a-kind-group. I hate to think one of them is gone.

I knew he was sick, but I thought he was getting better. He was only 47. Such a sad loss of a creative man.

The Beastie Boys were the first group I was really into. I remember Hello Nasty was the first album I bought for myself which made me set out to get their other albums.(I also remember getting License to Ill as a present for my Middle School graduation). A sad day indeed.
