Okay, so...yeah. Once in a lifetime phenomenon (for me anyway, when you consider that I missed the last one, at least, and that only today's babies will still be alive the next time it happens). I think I'll go and see it.
A local observatory is going to be letting people watch it from 5 to 7. Anyone else going to watch it? Either through an observatory, or with their own pinhole box lens, or...I dunno, I'm sure a website will also be chronicling it live somehow.

I'm about to watch. I do have an Orion optical glass filter for my 6" Skyquest Dobsonion, but...it's very, very overcast, so I'm about to view it through the Keck Observatory FB page.
I watched the Mercury transit back in 1996 and it was a thrill too see.

I'm sure it's nice but we had an annular solar eclipse a few weeks ago. Have fun with that.
