I thought it was pretty bad, I had high hopes and was really looking forward to it but it just didn't do it for me, and once they showed the old man all I could think of was Dan Aykroyd as the Judge from Nothing but Trouble and couldn't take it seriously the rest of the way

This was one of those films that was visually interesting, but overall...left me cold in not caring about anyone!
Charlie Holloway was the most annoying person of all. One of those egotistical scientists that does what he wants, when he wants:
"Hey, air outside's ok, i'm gonna disobey protocol, and take off my helmet!" "Hey, you're an android and yet you dress and look like us! Why not act like the freak you are!" "Waaahhh! There's no aliens to talk to! I'm just gonna drink and feel sorry for myself!" "I know you're infertile honey, but why don't I drunkenly rub some salt in the wound!" "Wow! Something's wrong with my eye, could be bad, maybe I picked it up in the atmosphere when I took off my helmet...but i don't need to tell anyone!"
In a sense, 'Prometheus' seemed more like a science fiction version of a bad teen slasher flick. That's what one gets when you have little to care about:
The mousey virgin: Eliabeth Shaw The jerk jock boyfriend: Charlie Holloway The blonde ice queen: Meredith Vickers The nerd: Millburn

It's one of the rare movies where I immediately liked the people you are susposed to dislike and rooted against the supposed heros. When it takes 1/2 the movie to convince yourself that that idiot is susposed to be the good guy, you've got Mst3k fodder.

I'd love to see Rifftrax work this one over, if they haven't already.

Anyway, Moon was shot for probably 1/10th of Prometheus' budget and was easily 100 times more enjoyable.

Comparing Prometheus to Moon seems almost unfair, sorta like comparing the Three Stooges to the Marx Brothers or something.

Ooooookay....
Pitch Black was probably shot for 1/5th of Prometheus' budget and was five times better.
Yah! How's that?!

I'd love to see Rifftrax work this one over, if they haven't already. I'd like to see them riff it as well, though it is R-rated and they tend to avoid those kind of films.

I forget, what was it about Prometheus' content that made it R-rated?
