"Maaaaaaaaaatlooooooock!" The Andy Griffith Show was huge back in the day, so I know for many people this is about as huge as the death of Lucille Ball. I liked it, and was bummed to hear he passed. But it's nice to know he lived a full life. But if they don't devote an entire episode of the Simpsons to this, I'll be very disappointed.

And another icon of my youth fades away. Like I said in the Goober thread, some of my earliest memories are of watching TAGS. It's been part of my world since day one. There are many hectic days when I wish I lived in quiet Mayberry.
Thanks Andy, you were a class act.

Very sad to here this. One of my favorite shows growing up was The Andy Griffith Show. I think one reason I liked it was that Andy and my Dad looked very similar back then. I think watching it in reruns was always sort of like spending some time back in my childhood. RIP Andy. You brought much happiness to this world.

Sad to hear. I loved the Andy Griffith Show, and I liked Matlock. He seemed like a good guy. It would be a lot better world if we had more sheriffs like Andy Taylor and lawyers like Ben Matlock. RIP Andy.

As much respect as Griffith deserves for Mayberry and Matlock, "A Face in the Crowd" is one of filmdom's greatest performances, and incredibly relevant today.
